From what I'm hearing, market value has almost doubled since last year. Players that aren't even particularly good are asking for 3 mil. It's officially out of control.

I don't follow the portal at all.
I check in on UK related pickups/interests, but other then that, I have no idea who ends up where. Way too exhausting to follow.
Also, nobody has any idea how these players will perform at other schools and with other portal players. A fanbase may get excited over pulling in top portal players, only to see the team vastly underperform. No one has any idea.

Really wanted him at UVA but can’t blame him for committing to Clemson. They’ve done a great job featuring their white bigs the last few years

Looks like things fell through with Gwath. This was shared online. When the agent said it was between Michigan and Kentucky, people figured Kentucky was the obvious choice as UM just grabbed a big man. But, until things have become official, coaches are still going to be contacting players. Players are still up for grabs until something has become officially announced... and even then, we know tampering occurs quite a bit.

They have grabbed 3 very good 3 point shooters and have the #2 point guard in the class coming in. Back court should be a lot of fun to watch next year.
We are loaded in the backcourt next year with talent. Brown jr, Kobe Rodgers, Adrian Wooley, Ryan Conwell, and now Isaac Mckneely. Insane depth and shooting. I hope we snag another big and hopefully land Ament, even though I think he’s headed to Duke. Sananda Fru is gonna surprise people this year. Dude is a beast. Khalifa will be good too. I just wanna add another front court defender and a wing, and I think our roster is set. Hopefully Hadley stays. Pryor and Rooths are apparently staying along with Scott. We will be deep next year.
KU’s signed no one yet and currently has 5 players on the roster, at least a few of which probably won’t be in the rotation.

Don't worry, if someone gets in the way of someone we want, It will be taken care of.
I think he's just seeing where his value is and contrasting that to where he's projected to go in the NBA Draft. I'd bet he gets drafted. I expect a similar fate for Yaxel Lendeborg. If either of those guys can get a consistent first round grade, which I think is doable, then I think they would stay in the draft. If not, see what your market value is. Not a bad move, IMO.

For me yes, he had a up and down year, not good on defense but had he stayed he would of started at SG.

Coming in he thought he'd be a 1 and done but it depends on who replaces him.

That's cool, especially since nobody has assembled a full roster yet. Kansas and UConn were the pre-season favorites to win this year. That obvioulsy worked out well for them both.
