Transfer portal thread

I’m just hoping McKneely ends up at UK or Tennessee instead of Duke, UNC, or Louisville. Best case scenario is he stays at UVA but I doubt that happens at this point. Excited to see what Ryan Odom can do with the portal and NIL though

Auburn has to find a replacement for Broome. What a find he was coming from Morehead St.

Texas Tech has entered the chat....

Whichever team gets this guy is immediately a favorite for the national title. He's that good.

I have no idea what the Vols are doing, but I hope it is good.

Yep. I’ll retract my bold prediction if he follows Pitino to Xavier. I assumed he’d be the missing piece for an already very good team.

Not sure where he'll end up, but Duke actually has a strong connection to Dent. He was HS teammates with Jared McCain. And McCain's brother, Jayce, is a graduate assistant for Duke.

Cayden Boozer is good, but not sure he's quite ready to be handed the keys to the corvette ( I expect all 5 Duke starters to be gone after this season). Duke reaching out makes a lot of sense.

You think Boozer's okay with that? Isn't he supposed to be one of the most NBA-ready guards in awhile?

From what I've heard, KU's not expected to get heavily involved with Dent because Peterson's the lead guard.

Maybe for Duke, but $3 mil would leave little left for most schools.

I've heard KU's expected to "up their game" to 15 mil this year. No idea if it's true.

More funding should be available next season when revenue sharing becomes an added income stream.

I would assume Dent wants a combination of a winning program + a reasonably high pay day. Top transfers were getting 2M last year. I could easily see Dent commanding 3M+. So yes, most schools probably can't compete for his services. A good chunk of the teams in the Sweet 16 + Louisville, Indiana, Kansas... and maybe a few outliers like Washington or Kansas State.

Cayden is the guard, and his twin brother, Cameron, is the big. Cameron could easily be 1st Team All-American. Not sure Cayden Boozer is even a OAD.. It might bother the family, though, feeling like they had a spot secured. Cayden is ranked just inside the top 25 by both Rivals and 247.

Oops. As you can see, I don't follow other teams' HS recruits very closely.

You think K-State's NIL collective is at that level? I did hear rumors that Coleman Hawkins was paid $2 mil.

Auburn trying to get a visit next week from him as a replacement for Broome

Anything can change, of course. But, I'll say 95% confident he'll be at Creighton.

I think K-State's collective was in the top 5 a year ago. But, they kind of bombed on the season. Heard donors were frustrated with their investments. So, wouldn't be surprised if there's a drop-off. Why pay for expense players if they're not producing? And yes, Coleman Hawkins was around 2 Mil. Dug McDaniel, Achor Achor, and Ugonna Onyenso all had really big pay days, too.

@dukedevilz Did you happen to watch any Sam Houston State games this year? Out of all the portal guys UK has been linked to, I'm intrigued by this Lamar Wilkerson guy the most. Put up really good numbers on good shooting %'s. Feel like he could have a Kobt Brea type impact. Have you seen him play and if so do you think he would be a good pickup?

Arkansas gonna give him some Tyson stock and wings for life.

Sounds like Vols are making significant progress with Purdue-Fort Wayne guard Jalen Jackson. Michigan is still in it but we are selling him hard on being the Ziegler replacement
