According to a Kentucky poster a few posts back, that means Calipari is a better coach than Pope. 🤷‍♂️
I'd rather have a guy like Pope personally, but let's not get ahead of ourselves and compare a coach that was at the center of college basketball for like 10 years and has a title, with a guy thats just starting his journey. It's not fair to either coach.

Cal also didnt give a shit about UK. He cared about the nba and draft night
Cmon man I don't believe that. I think he STILL cares about Kentucky. Calipari at Arkansas feels a bit like Spurrier at South Carolina IMO. He has to pretend not to care to do his job. We'll see what he says after he retires.

The difference is Spurrier left on his own for the NFL and fudged up.

St Johns losing was a big win for Tennessee. losing to Nova is a bad loss should keep them off our ass. The 3 teams we need to lose were St Johns,Purdue, and Texas A&M. 2 lost now we get A&M for ourselves next saturday

He wanted the UK job bad before he got it, but his true passion is the NBA and taking credit for getting kids drafted.
He used UK for the stage, eventually he didn’t even try to hide the fact that the NBA was more important than UK.
It was a fun ride for a good 10 years, but he got fat and lazy and thought he was bigger than the program. Glad he's gone, now we have a guy that is about UK AND the players.

you think Steve Spurrier at Florida would say that the nfl draft is what matters most?

I mean isn't the fact that Calipari cared about his kids getting drafted the reason the best players came to UK? I just don't think Calipari even right now doesn't care about the UK program. He looked truly hurt when they booed him.

I just want to throw a shoutout to South Carolina and specifically Murray-Boyles for going hard every game. That dude is giving it his all every second he's in that game until the very end. It would be really really easy to quit and just think about transferring etc.

Anyways add Ole Miss to the teams that snuck away from Colombia with a W.

You can care about the kids and still fit team play and team goals in there somewhere ahead of the NBA draft.

He turned UK into an NBA farm system. When you walked into the facility, all you saw was all his NBA guys plastered all over the walls in their NBA gear. Not UK gear, NBA gear.

Then there was the Pro days before and after the season. The whole focus was about the NBA and getting to the next level as fast as possible. So kids that weren't ready for the next level left, no matter what. There wasno continuity and Cal was good with that. He wanted to fillthe NBA with kids that were going to the NBA no matter what. He takes tge credit for getting them there. Yeah, AD and Wall needed his help… eyeroll.

It was never about UK, it was about individual goals and accomplishments. Oh sure, it works when you get John Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe, Knight, Randle, MKG, AD, Nerlens, Towns, Monk and Fox, but Cal stopped getting those guys and it all went to shit.

You think it’s cool, until it's happening at your school. We knew there was an issue in 2010 when Cal made the statement on draft night "this is the greatest night in UK history". Yeah… ..no.
