The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

Definitely served as a wake up call and helped the Cats roll through the tourney.

As for 2015, once the Cats got to 31-0, I was of the mindset that "well, they might as well just go for the undefeated season." In retrospect, a loss would have probably been the best thing that could have happened to UK, but they had a chance to make history. Still think if Poythress never got hurt that UK team rolls to 40-0. Bummer.
It was still major coaching malpractice to lose to a bunch of unathletic honkies with a miniscule fraction of the talent Cal had at his disposal. Will forever be known as the game that broke Cal.

Kinda funny how that can work out.

Duke lost twice to ND in 2015. Yet UK beat ND in the Elite 8. Duke beat Wisc twice, yet UK lost to Wisc in FF.

Go figure.
Yep. You never know. I always laugh when someone says Team A would kill team B. On paper yes, but you just never really know. I've lost enough bets this year by 20 point favorites losing straight up to know that here are no guarantees.

I mean Auburn lost to kentucky by 32 in 2019 with our only nba player playing. Then beat UK with our only nba player not playing in the elite 8.

If I recall correctly, UK also won at Auburn in the reg season that year, so going into the Elite 8 were 2-0 against Auburn.

Would've been 3-0 if PJ Washington could hit FTs in the NCAAT. Dude lost us two NCAAT games (Kstate and auburn) clanking FTs. TBF, we probably aren't even in those games if it weren't for PJ though.

I was glad UK lost the SECT final to Vandy in 2012. I think it fueled their natty run, and it also meant Indiana couldn't boast about being the only team that prevented them from achieving perfection. 😂
That Vandy team was damn good, but then they didn't even get out of the first weekend in the NCAAT.
They ended up with 11 losses, which blows my mind, they were tough to beat. I think they really got hyped to play UK, Kevin Stallings was like that. He hated UK.

Yeah, that was tough to watch, especially against KSU the year prior.

As for the Auburn game, Cal, as usual, tightened up in the second half and slowed things to a grinding halt when Auburn was making their comeback. It was literally post PJ and Travis up every time down. I was yelling at the screen to get Keldon and Herro more looks, but he wouldn't do it. So frustrating.

Too soon friend.
The only times Florida won it all they won hard fought SEC tourneys. In fact I think everytime Florida won the SEC tourney they went to the final four. Going to have to fact check this one though. I feel we've been to more final fours than we have won SEC tournaments SMH.

Auburn won the SEC tourney in our only final 4 apperance in 2019. Also won the SEC tourney last season and then lost to Yale.

Yeah so i looked it up. Florida has won 4 SEC tournaments 05, 06, 07, 14. The 05 year was the one I forgot about. We lost in the second round to Nova. The three others were final 4 teams.
Florida as a program has more final four appearances than they do conference tourney titles. That just seems odd.
