The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

huh? I wasnt including UNC. purdue, houston, iowa st., and tennessee are all in the top 10 right now. We beat all of them
I didn't say you were including UNC, that was just an example of my point. Also didn't know we were playing the "where they are now" game, as opposed to the ranking when you actually played them. But yes, those are all good wins.

you said we only have 3 when we do have 4
Yes, because most normal people (and everyone in the media) defines those metrics based on the ranking when you played them, not where they are now. In that regard, Auburn has 3 top 10 wins. Purdue was 16th when they played. Hope that helps.

thats stupid. gonzaga is not good. Nor should be viewed as a legit top 10 win. right now in the top 10 is far more impressive

Resume wise they are a top 10ish team, but they are not nearly playing like a top ten team now. They haven’t had any offense for a while.
Well, look at the teams they lost to though. Those teams will make most teams look bad.

Vanderbilt is a bit of a surprise, but at home, they are very good. They got UT and UK.

But I will agree, Tennessee is in a bit of a rut right now. They get Florida on Saturday, they really need to win that one, if they don’t, that’s a 3 game skid with 2 being at home.

But check out the rest of their schedule:
5 Florida
20 Missouri
@Oklahoma
@12 UK
24 Vandy
@ 13 aTm
@ LSU
4 Alabama
@23 Ole Miss
South Carolina

That's 10 games, 7 are against ranked teams, they are @ 3 very good ranked teams and Mizzou and Alabama are extremely tough to beat, even on your home court.

I see at least 5 losses there, but even if they do lose 5, they're still a top 10 team, none of those are bad losses.

But, like I said, they need to win Saturday… .because most importantly, I have them in the pick-em contest

Well duh, but that ain't how things work broseph. Go back and look at the record books and it ain't gonna say Purdue was a top 10 team when Auburn beat them.

I said they are bad offensively right now, you guys can shoot but are not good on defense. They can’t score!

Vanderbilt is a decent team, but they are not big and they really don’t shoot well, they just play hard.

There are arguments for both sides.

Gonzaga is a perfect example. In November, they were easily one of the best 10 teams in the country, but something is going on. Everyone else got better, they regressed.

look at duke. Duke is a legit 1 seed. UK plsyed them in November, they were top 5 easily. But what if Flagg got hurt and had to sit out the rest of the year? They are now not even a top 15 team (if they lost Flagg), but you should get credit for beating them when they were top 5.

I think thats why they do it this way.

UK's defense, is their offense. It's just that simple. They are going to just keep scoring and make you keep pace, if you don't you lose.

Tennessee isn’t nearly as bad as they looked last night. They took the bait, but I bet that doesn't happen again the rest of the season.

My issue is that preseason rankings are often not accurate at all. Thus beating someone in top 10 in november may not say or mean much

I don't disagree, some teams are definitely fraudulent and you don't know that until the season plays out.

Like I said, you could argue both sides of it.

Yeah, nobody should be crushing Barnes. He did everything a coach could do to win the game. Shots didn’t go down and that’s not a consistent issue. You give thise guys open 3's and they usually make them.

The SEC is frustrating this year. Every game is crazy and there are going to be some surprising outcomes, this is one of them.

Barnes has been great for Tennessee, he has more than earned some street cred in Knoxville. You’re guys will learn from this.
Barnes is going to be tough to replace when he retires. The man is in his 70s.

Great games tonight holy shit. I really wanted Miss St to take that one dammit! Even LSU made Auburn work for it at least.
Yeah, I had MSU in the pick em. I thought they would get this one. They had it, but let it go.

Alabama is getting better every game. There are guys you just cannot leave open (Youngblood for sure), but they make you cover every square inch of the floor.

MSU kept leaving Youngblood wide open and he burned them every time.

Looks like it's Auburn and Alabama this year, Florida has a shot, but y'all have a tough road.
