The SEC is shaping up to be a tough Conference

Tennessee played good defense oddly we held Clayton in check. But offense we went like 3-30 behind the arc. Can't win like that

Yeah, not gonna win many games shooting 21% from the field, 14% on nearly 30 3s, and 60% on 25 FT attempts. Plus I see that Florida outrebounded UT by almost 20.

Credit to UGA they played good and Uk played like shit.

Tennessee on the other hand could’ve just put on the most embarrassing display of basketball for a #1 ranked team ever!😳

Your D was solid. Honestly it was like the baskets were out of place bc Florida had some head scratching misses also.

Shoot, last year Tennessee beat Florida's ass by 20+ which put us at 1-3 to start conf play. That beating I feel woke us up and we ended up going 10-4 from there on out with a run to the conf tourney finals. Sometimes a team needs a beating to wake up.

GG UGA fans, that an early reminder of what life on the road in the SEC is all about.

Don't be soft. Better win by 10.

Speaking of soft....

The foul discrepancy in that UGA game is mind numbing. They are the more physical team.

Our guys did got frustrated though. Started shoving, and playing weak minded instead of trying to figure out a way to overcome.

Sounds like Auburn down the stretch. Dumb fouks. Broome actually got t'd up last night out of frustration

Yeah, I saw that.
Had all 4 screens going last night,
Broome has a bit of a temper, he’s better with that this year, but he has to understand he should be above all that, he’s too good to let lower level players.
The game is coming really easy to JB right now, he’s easily the best player in cbb.

I appreciate Coach Pope's positive demeanor, but sometimes you need to get pissed off and give the refs an earful. I usually roll my eyes when our fans complain about officiating, but last night it was definitely warranted.

Ditto.

It is just not in Pope's nature to do that. So doubt it will ever happen. He even was asked in his postgame presser about the free throw disparity, and Pope said that had nothing to do with the outcome. Said UK could have done a million other things to make the lopsided officiating irrelevant.

As for the reffing, yes it was terrible. Definitely in UGAs favor. They were so physical, yet were not called for the majority of it. The announcer said UK needs to match UGAs physicality in the second half to get those calls. Yet UK gets more physical in the second half, and they are either called for a foul, or a foul is not called on UGA when UK is physical inside offensively.

Outsize of the crappy and inconsistent officiating, UK had plenty of chances. But when you shoot 24% from deep and two of your starters (Robinson and Williams) are no shows, you won't win many games.

I know it's a long season but if we lose to Texas saturday I'll start to be pessimistic about our chances. I'll be thinking the worst

Well Auburn has absolutely gapped the 2 big ten schools we have played this year
Yeah, I think the top of the SEC is stout. Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky and A&M are very good. I think the Mississippi schools are good. I do think there is some question beyond that. Arkansas has talent but it's Calipari. Beyond that, there aren't a lot of great non-con wins.

I absolutely HATED that about Mike White when he was at Fl. You don't have to be Dan Hurley, but let the damn refs know that YOU KNOW what they're doing.

We played Arizona St earlier this year and got a questionable foul call on a dunk attempt and Bobby Hurley went off and even got a tech. Well let me tell you they didn't call a foul on that AzSt all second half and they ended up shooting more FTs than we did. It's most certainly a thing. I was absolutely LIVID during our first round game vs Colorado. I wanted Golden to get thrown out of the game.

I'd bet the truly great coaches likely have all these officials scouted out well before their games too, because with the technology today why wouldn't you?!

I’d have Tennessee in the very good or even elite range. Pains me to say it, but bama could be in the elite category also.

I don't disagree that the Big is super deep and that the SEC hype might be a touch much, but what the SEC did in OOC was nuts. I think it helped that the SEC teams won a LOT of those close 50/50 matchups that could have went either way, but still.

Get this...the SEC has 18 wins (non-con) over current Kenpom top 20 teams (not counting sec vs sec). Those 18 Ws were spread out between 9 different teams! Thats not including Florida or MissSt by the way. Literally Marquette and Michigan St are the only kenpom top 20 teams that haven't lost to an SEC team. That's absolutely nuts!

So Duke crushed Pitt really bad the other night right? Miss St crushed them even worse earlier this year. Get this...the SEC has 18 wins over current Kenpom top 20 teams(not counting sec vs sec). I mean Auburn has 7 quad 1 wins already. We had 3 all season
last year and were a 4 seed in the tourney.

I think that's why Oats likes a brutal non con, SOS is very important to.

This is the first year since your final 4 to have a strong non con
