Oh, I know----That came out wrong. And the media is fukin' clueless. Situations are nowhere near the same...Barnes is a dude to this day, Texas fans are pissed he was fired.
I just got to get this off my chest.
Tubby Smith left us with an NCAA tournament team with players and our computers. I would welcome him back.
Beard ran everyone off and told recruits not to come to Tech. He left us with like 4 players. Took nearly the entire basketball staff with him saying they wouldn’t have jobs if they didn’t get on the plane to Austin. After Adams refused to get on the plane he ran him down to in order to beat him down to get on the plane. Saying he was too old, Tech would never hire him, and some other things. Adams basically stopped taking his calls so he had his agent and others calling him.
The man even stole our computers and only returned them wiped clean of all basketball related information after we threatened legal action. He deleted our own footage, etc. Pretty sure he took the ice cube trays as well.
But the national media wants us to honor him.

View from inside the bus courtesy of Texas’s play by play guy. He apologizes for the Tech fans language but is fine with several people including UT players on the bus telling the driver to run people over.
I figured those all those tents would make Beard feel at home since he lives in Austin now.
It's not like we threw mustard and golf balls SEC style.
As an official, I absolutely fukin loved this type of atmosphere----You are in the locker room, hour/half , 2 hours before tip----and you;re just as excited as the teams.
Miss this the most.....Damn.

And not to compare, because it doesn't----but some of the best atmosphere's I've been in have been HS basketball games in Indiana. Especially in the tourney...

Fans camping out saw Texas coming in for the shoot around and swarmed the bus etc. So Beard was complaining about a lack of security to anyone who would listen. Adams sought him out and asked if there was anything he could do. According to some accounts Beard proceed to complain and blamed Adams for fans not embracing him in his return to Lubbock.
Well, he is a moron if he thought they would welcome him back with open arms.
By all accounts, Beard seems like a d-bag.
