In what order do you predict those 4 teams in terms of winning this season?

I’m not sure I see UK tanking. But I’m not sure what to expect. At the end of the day Arkansas still has Calipari as their coach, with our former players, so they’re a proven, and not for the better. I don’t see any of those additions being able to overcome his coaching. Lamont appears to have some coaching prowess. Barnes is Barnes. He’s been able to get good results lately, but the core of that team is now gone.

Arkansas will Arkansas. UT will UT and south carolina will be South Carolina.

The only reason I put you fourth in my ranking is because Pope is the X factor. If he knows his stuff, the talent is there to win the conference. If he is very mid, I could see y'all around 4th. We all have to wait and see.

Same as Rick Barnes made a fan base from the dead. Cal has done the same.

So many new Calipari fans. Wouldn't be surprised to see Barnes retire and Cal goes to UT and now he's the best thing. "he'll do so much better here with fewer resources."

*Wait, was this a dig at UK have a poor fanbase? I'm a bit slow. Never dawned on me someone would say that on RR lite.

Calipari can be interesting to listen to, but I was never a big fan and I’m still not. That roster is starting to look pretty stout though…

I don't see it with Arkansas. Big Z is still a long way away, he l0oked good in one game last year, Knox is a project, Ado is a good rebounder and decent defender, but he's no scorer. Boogie Fland is an unknown, but one thing we do know is he's not rated as high as DJ, Edwards and Dillingham. If Fland turns out to be more of a project, Arkansas is screwed.

Cal is going to roll with DJ at the 1 and I just don't see enough scoring. Plus, he lost Welch, so there goes that great offense Cal had last year.

What does South Carolina have talent wise? I haven't seen any big gets for them.

UT lost a lot and if they don’t get Lanier, I'm not sure they're a top 25 team.

I like the roster Pope is building. I'll take a bunch of great defenders, the best 3 point shooter in the country and an offensive minded coach that will have more talent and size than he has ever had.

If Pope lands Lanier, Jaxson Robinson and another good PF, I'm taking UK in this group (depending on what usc has). Pope still has 4 more scholarships to fill.

I thought Fland was a 5*, that piece says he's a 4*. Yikes, Cal is going to have far less talent than he usually has and his team is still going to be pretty young.
Knox and Fland are going to play, they have to, they aren't coming to play for Cal if the thought is to play more than 1 year.
This could be a disaster.

Pretty sure that's Knox. Per Rivals, he's one spot away from a 5 (#21). Fland is top 10.

Who knows what he'll do with it, but there's plenty of talent there. And obviously they're not done. They have like 7 scholarship players.

One of the best guards in the country, plus Aidoo/Thiero/Z, a top 10 prospect and two other top 25 recruits = disaster? Come on, dude. That's just sour grapes talking.

Looking at the last 4 years, Cal has embarrassed himself with far more talent than what he's about to have at Arkansas.

Fland is no John Wall and Knox is no Malik Monk.

Cal just lost 10 games (5 in Rupp) with a team that had 2 lottery picks coming off the bench. He’s in deep shit if he rolls this lineup out there.

Big Z and Aidoo are role players at the 5 and neither are polished back-to-the-basket scorers, Cal has to have that, because he runs his offense through the post.

Right now, Arkansas has 1 elite guy, Davis is it, the rest are role players. If he sucked with last years roster, how is he going to win with this one?

You tell me, what would Bill Self have accomplished with the roster Cal had last year? Would he have lost 10 games?

First of all, I'm not saying I expect Arkansas to be in the final four.

Second, his top 7 weren't far more talented the last four years. Definitely not in '21. Plus, the roster's far from complete. Do you really think everybody they add from this point is going to be a scrub? For all we know, he might grab a couple of the best guys who pull out of the draft. It's not like Arkansas isn't willing to spend, as they've already proven.

And we don't know who's going to be elite. Fland could be great, maybe Z makes a big jump...who knows. Just last season, you had a pair of guys drastically outperform their rankings, yet you're automatically writing off a couple top 20ish prospects?

Who are Kentucky's elite players as of now, btw? Who can they count on to go get 20?

What UK teams had less talent than this Arkansas team? 20/21 UK had Clarke, Boston, Sarr, Isaiah Jackson and Jacob Toppin. All NBA caliber guys. I don't see it on this team.

Yeah, last year had 2 guys show out that were rated lower and 2 guys that were projected lottery picks that stunk. That’s a prime example of why you can’t rely on freshmen and HS ratings. Also, look who pissed down their legs in the NCAAT, Cal and all the freshmen. Happens far too often.

Right, Cal is going to add more guys, but who? What guys is he in line for? Who are these difference makers?

Who are UK's elite players? Lets see, Brea is the best 3 point shooter in the country, Williams is the best defensive center and Lamont Butler is an elite guard defensively. He also started at pg for a national runner up. UK has proven veteran players and if Pope lands Lanier and Jaxson, it's not close. I'll take a team full of proven seniors over a box of chocolates any day.

I'm not saying UK is a title team, but it’s a better roster thanwhat Arkansas has. I've seen this Calipari movie too many times now. He coaches for individual accomplishments and goals over winning and that’s not going to change all the sudden.

Per the Athletic's rankings, he's got the #2 transfer, the #17 transfer, #62 and #77. Plus a top 10 freshman and two more top 20ish freshmen. And Isn't there a strong chance that he gets Wagner? No idea who else they’re recruiting.

Kentucky's highest-rated transfer is #37, and he's still mostly potential. Plus the #43 and #72 freshmen per Rivals.

As for NBA talent...I'd say Arkansas has several with NBA potential. But if that's how you're judging a roster, that's bad news for Kentucky. Which Kentucky players are going to be drafted after this season?

One elite skill does not make you an elite all-around player. I think you know this. Calling Brea an elite player is like saying Brannen Greene was elite. Brea is a guy who would come off the bench as a 3 pt specialist for a contender. I don't know who else they're going to add, but right now they're mostly a bunch of solid role players.

Between the two teams, there's one proven elite player and he's on Arkansas.

Who gives a shit about draft picks? Half the NBA played for Cal at UK, he has 1 title and the worst season in UK history. He also has the worst 2 NCAAT losses. The NBA drafts on potential, potential does you no good in college.

There's a difference between kids with furure potential and guys like Jalen Brunson, who proved himself in college before he went on to the NBA. The guys at KU in 22, Baylor in 21 and UConn 23 that went pro/are going pro, are NBA draft picks because they showed out in college, most of them as upperclassmen.

But also, none of those title teams had more than one or 2 freshmen playing in their regular rotations, those teams were veteran led teams.

As far as portal rankings, every service you look at, has completely different rankings for each player, you're just using one that caters to your UK hate.

But that's fine, you posted your projections for how these 4 teams will finish, my projections are different. I think KU will come in 3rd in the BIG12 behind Houston and Baylor, but I'm sure you'll disagree. Seems like KU is going to have cohesion issues since they have a bunch of new pieces.

I don't care about draft picks. I was responding to your comment about NBA talent. Why'd you use that as the basis for comparing rosters if you don't give a shit?

Btw, where was that attitude last year when you were making fun of Dickinson's draft stock?

LOL. I don't care where anybody wants to rank KU. Bet you wouldn't be willing to put any money on that though.

FTR, KU brings back three starters in their 4th/5th/6th years plus three bench guys. I sure hope you can see a difference between that and bringing no one back.

Dude, YOU brought up the NBA talent bullshit.
Btw, where was that attitude last year when you were making fun of Dickinson's draft stock?
Huh? What did I say about Hunter's draft stock? Why would I care about that? Only thing I said is he's a known locker room cancer. I can't wait to see what comment of mine you're attempting to twist now, this should he fun.
LOL. I don't care where anybody wants to rank KU. Bet you wouldn't be willing to put any money on that though.
But you care about an apparent crack I made about Hunter D's draft stock. Got it.

KU will have a good team, but just like UK, Arkansas and every other team out there, it comes down to fit, coaching and player health. I think Sampson is a better coach and he runs a system based on elite level defense. I think Baylor has better top end talent, so I put KU 3rd.

I swear half my time here is spent reminding you of shit you said.

Seems like this person gives a shit about NBA talent.

So freshman Ivicic is equal to or better than Hunter Dickinson? 🤣
Uh, yeah, he’s actually on NBA draft boards, 2nd round, but he's headed for the NBA, Hunter will be frying fries at a truck stop hardees within 5 years.

This person also seems to give a shit about NBA draft stock. Good call btw.

Maybe you should stop accusing me of lying. Speaking of, what’s your evidence of HD being a “known locker room cancer?” I’m sure you wouldn’t spread a rumor for a year without plenty of evidence.

I spend most of my time explaing to you how you twist most of what I say.
^^

Only to rebut your bullshit. You still think projected NBA draft picks = a great college team even though the proof is shown in the FF time and time again.

When I'm in a discussion with you, I usually end up talking about draft picks, this discussion is exhibit A.

LOL. I twisted nothing. Meanwhile, you just lied about 5 times in a single post. Impressive.

Nice try. So to answer the question of who gives a shit about NBA talent…you do.

When I'm in a discussion with you, I usually end up talking about draft picks, this discussion is exhibit A.

Such a lie. 🤣

I wouldn’t have said a word about the NBA if you hadn’t gone there. I’m the last person to judge players by their draft status. Do I think that many of the players drafted from Kentucky were good in college? Yeah. Because I watched them. Not because they were on draft boards.

And you’ll definitely never catch me saying that a projected 2nd round project who’s never played a single college game is better than an All American who’s put up big numbers for four years. That shit is hilarious.

Michigan fans

Very detailed. Definitely no bullshit here.

Out of curiosity, I read through about 50 posts about HD on a Michigan forum from 6 mo ago. Most were complimentary and wished him well. There was exactly one negative comment about the locker room, and it was really vague, just saying that he wasn’t a good locker room presence. Another post specifically said “Not a cancer by any means.” Verdict: bullshit.

Btw, did you know that Reed Sheppard is a locker room cancer? Source: Tennessee fans.
