I think he sets Iowa apart from the other teams. I'd rank them ahead of Gonzaga and Baylor.
In all seriousness, we are gonna need to shoot more consistently if we want to hang with Baylor and Gonzaga. They are definitely more athletic, at least from what I've seen, overall as teams, than Iowa. Garza can get his but if our other guys can't step up then they'll just be chasing Gonzaga and Baylor's scorers, like most Iowa teams do when they run into more athletic, aggressive teams.
Iowa, though, does actually have the shooters to do that this year....they've just been a bit inconsistent in the first 3 games. Weiskamp has had good moments but also disappears still like he did throughout last year. Bohannon has gotten off to a slow start and could honestly be replaced by Joe Toussaint by the time Big Ten play rolls around.
McCaffrey and Frederick are still in role player mode and score within the flow of the offense. Otherwise, they've been primarily distributors for the main scorers. It was nice to see Nunge come off the bench in his first game of the season after missing the first two following the tragic and sudden passing of his father. If he could fill the roll of Ryan Kreiner from last year, that would be a huge help for Garza and Iowa.
And yet despite the inconsistency and cold shooting spells, it has to be a positive that Iowa is still averaging well over 90 points a game. That's what happens when you have a team with so many different scoring options....along with arguably the most dominant Center in college basketball in years, if not decades.
