Ref screwed Izzo's HS team out of a state title

He traveled and that was an easy intentional foul call. Are the refs just supposed to ignore the rules of the game in the last 5 seconds?

He catches the ball with his left foot on the ground, steps with his right, and then goes up for the layup. You’re allowed to do that.

He catches with both feet on the ground, moves his right foot, thus establishing his left as his pivot foot, then moves that pivot foot. Traveling.

The one kid grabbed a guy from behind taking a half court shot. They deserved to lose based on that alone.

That call was at least correct. The travel was a blown call made by the trailing ref 50 feet from the play when the lead ref had a perfect angle on the play.

By your logic any and every jump shot after a player pivots would be a travel.

You can jump off your pivot foot to shoot, you can’t lift your pivot foot and jump off your non pivot foot afterwards. It’s a travel, bad timing but it’s a travel.

One was too chicken shit to make the call. At least one ref had some integrity.

Lol...no.

The pivot foot can be picked up on the shot. It just can’t touch the floor before the ball is out of the players hand (according to the NFHS rule book)

Travel call IMO, was wrong. Not as bad as I thought. But, no----I don't make that call.

Intentional foul----Yes. That was easy. He grabbed the kid. No play on the ball. HS rules are very specific on this.

Edit: Not saying the travel call was wrong-----But I thought it was a bad call. Leave that alone. Nothing was gained. It wasn't obvious. Maybe.....maybe a shuffle. Maybe. I leave that alone.
