Today I got to meet another one of my National Board Friends. @Random UK Fan

He is one long dude and is just as nice as the others that I have met.

Actually he is quite a bit better than @lurkeraspect84 !

Here is a picture and I am sorry that I am so much better looking than RandomUKFan.

Really enjoyed the visit Bert! If anyone finds themselves near Bowling Green, KY, make the short trip over to Smith’s Grove and visit him. He and his wife Sherry (sp?) are as hospitable and kind as they come. Salt of the earth and a gorgeous home too. It’s decorated with pictures of a beautiful family and some fine bourbons.

Hope the scampi was good, Bert.

5/5 stars. Would visit again.

Is that your house, Bert? Sweet Maker's lamp! Who does the banjo pickin'?
My house. The Makers lamp was a home project with the help of a friend.

The old banjo was my grandfather's. His name was Jessie Henderson Higginbotham (1859-1942). I ended up with his banjo and his old pump .22 rifle. He was also Kentucky Distiller #62. If you ever need the recipe let me know. He made 269 gallons a day.

How many of us have you met now @Bert Higginbotha ?
A few. Not all are on the National Board, some are on Cats Illustrated.

Ritchie Curtis, Ymmot, BKOCats, Austin, Rooster, OldEvansCat, Lurker and now RandomUKfan.

edit: KY jeff. GEEZE.

Haha, nice!!! I might take you up on that offer one day! After watching Moonshiners I am pretty sure I could cook up some good booze. 😆

The only thing he left out was how much yeast. I assume he grew his own. The recipe was in his 1898 ATF manual. The only reason it survived prohibition and time was that is where they wrote down when the kids were born. Uncle Nathaniel was born in 1897, so he was the first in the 1898 book.
