I don't follow IU like some , but can they ever score more than 60ppg? They been in the 60s ever since I turned this game on, 3:40 left.
IU's players probably ran out of steam a bit allowing Purdue's D to make some stops. IU played hard but they don't have a ton of depth.
Meh, kind of. Morgan is a stud. A kid who I felt was going to have a great year. But other than that, don't let the ranking beside a kids name fool you. I mean we have kids who are going to be good, i.e. Smith, Durham, etc, etc... But they are freshman, who are just not ready to contribute at a high level. Then add our senior guards have been awful. We lost our 4*, Top 50 SG to a transfer. Lost our other 4* to a season ending injury.
I mean how good can the talent be when you are forced to start a walk-on? Or when your back=up to Morgan is Freddie McSwain?
Help is coming. I like where Miller has us going. Pure coaching is the only reason we have taken UL, DUke and now Purdue to the wire. A team with no shooters. No bigs. No depth. And most critical, no PG. I'm tickled as shit we didn't lose to UL, Duke or PU by 30+.

I felt like part of that was fatigue. IU played so hard all game, but they lack depth.
Meh, I guess some of it could have been. But not sure how fatigue makes you take the type of shot RoJo took late; a combo of a swooping, finger roll/hook, underhanded fling. Or whatever the **** that was. Or trying to dribble through 3 Purdue defenders. Or Newkirks lazy ass pass. Just not sure how much of a role fatigue can play in that.
You are correct though. We have no depth.

Your team just played in one helluva tough game and barely survived against an undermanned IU team with 2 starters out with injuries, and you come up with a bull$hit comment like that. "Dumpster"?- IU just won the B1G two years ago. IU has been in 4 Final Fours, and won 2 national championships since pu last appeared in a FF. The broilees survived today in a great game, and all you can do is a "purdue mentality" comment. That is why you guys will NEVER be with the great programs. You have no clue how to win graciously. The purdue mentality, it is real.....
I'm thinking with IU bringing in 5, 4 stars next year at a minimum, and puke graduating 4 senior starters, that you should worry about which program is going in the dumpster. Purdue will always be purdue-and you are afraid of that .
Some guy creates an account, starts trolling Purdue fans in the Purdue board and gets no traction, so he goes to the national board and starts pretending to be an actual Purdue fan and succeeds in getting an IU guy riled up. Don’t draw conclusions about an entire fan base from a few anonymous posters on an message board.
With all due respect. You took Purdue to the wire because Purdue missed a bunch of open looks.
WTF is your point? That's all part of the game/contest, isn't it? If you want to play that, IU didn't blow out PU because they missed a bunch of three's.....

Big difference though. IU isn’t a good 3-point shooting team and Purdue is one of the top 5 3-point shooting teams in the country. So IU missing 3’s wasn’t unexpected. For Purdue, that’s not the norm.
Uh, my point was, sure IU played a good game, but had Purdue shot even near its average on what were a lot of wide open shots, then IU wouldn’t have took it to the wire.
Sure having an off night shooting happens, but that doesn’t translate to the other team playing well. Now had they been contested looks, then I could see Borden’s point.
Good teams overcome bad shooting nights like yesterday. The fact Purdue shot so badly probably points more to the lack of IU’s ability to take advantage outside of hanging around. Had Purdue shot that badly against Northwestern or Maryland, they would have lost.
But hey, rock on with your moral victory. You didn’t get blown out. Kudos.
Fatigue can make you do all kinds of things you wouldn't normally do. I know from experience, lol.
Huh? Don't know where that leap came from..... I'm not celebrating anything and didn't even suggest a moral victory.
Here's a moral victory scenario:
Team that hasn't been in a final four since 1980, finally makes it after 38 years; only to lose in the opening quarter final. That........ could be argued a moral victory.

Purdue won because IU shot 18% from 3 and around 50% from the ft line.
IU's a bottom-30 team from 3 and the free throw line this year. Yesterday wasn't some outlier.

Purdue came into the game shooting 44.2% from three. It shot 27.8%, which is 16.4% worse than average.
IU came into the game shooting 31.0% from three. It shot 18.8%, which is 12.2% worse than average.
Both teams had outliers. IU's was just a smaller outlier.
You and I both know that there's a difference between variance and outliers. None of IU's shooting splits yesterday were outliers.
And IU missed half their free throws. See how that works? The game happened how it happened.
