The last time (well, only time) Auburn was a 1 seed, they got bounced in the Sweet 16. You lost by a gazillion points in the 2nd round as a 4, first round as a 5, and you've been to the final four once in history.
But yeah, bet the house on transforming from garbage to greatness in one year.
Auburn should have lost in 1st round in 2019 too. They were lucky to escape that game.

I feel for you @AuHoosier420 . I'm a White Sox fan living in Chicago. I know what it's like to be the unwanted step child of your city/state. Gotta be the same being an Auburn fan living in the massive shadow of Roll Tide. Actually it's worse. At least the Cubs suck and haven't had more success than the White Sox. Definitely can't say the same thing about Auburn vs Alabama.
I have UVA in my bracket. I am struggling to pick a "big upset" in the First Round, so I entertained it ... but I think Virginia simply is a lot better.
P.S. I was surprised that Virginia actually has the fourth most No. 1 Seeds all-time, with 7. I know they have been good lately and have a decent history, but that is surprisingly impressive. I mean, they are above programs like UConn, Michigan State, Arizona, UCLA, Indiana, Louisville, etc. Here is the list (I used all-time winning pctg. as a tie-breaker for what order to put 'em in if they had the same

UVA basketball is pretty much Ralph Sampson and Tony Bennett. 7 1-seeds is pretty insane for a team that competes with two blue bloods in the same conference. But we also only have 1 title out of 7 tries as a 1-seed. Not the best percentage but that 1 title is enough to live with some of the disappointments.
