***Official SEC Basketball Season Thread***

I definitely get some teams going to the line more often than others, but there's an annoying trend to where home court is just crazy over the top.
Give me your top 5 SEC teams 3 games into conference play

UK has the best wins, but also the worst losses IMO. You can mess around with the top 5 and have some type of argument. I think Bama has looked impressive, I'd probably have them 2 but Kentucky's win vs MsSt was very impressive as well on the road. It was weird seeing Bama out rebound A&M.
I'd rather Florida be ranked lower than the rest of the top teams so they can play pissed off.

Yeah, those 2 losses aren't a good look, but they aren't bad losses, both were quad 1 games.
But to me, wins over Duke, @ Gonzaga, Florida and @ MSU, are better wins than anyone else has, with the exception of UT's win at Illinois and Auburn's win over Iowa State.
Auburn and Alabama have a win over Houston, but we don't know how good Houston is, they haven't beaten anyone yet.
5 teams have a good argument though and here we are about to go through another week where there will be possible separation.
Auburn has a 38 point win over a team that kentucky lost to by 20. Both games were neutral site games also. I have no idea how UK lost to ohio st. Or clemson. Yes you beat duke but your game wasnt at cameron indoor like ours.

Well, losses to Ohio state shouldn't be surprising considering how this team had to he pieced together.
If they play that game again, I guarantee you it would go much differently.
Auburn is on another level right now, my hope is UK can be good enough to beat Auburn when they play. Luckily the two teans dont clash until March.
But I like what UK has accomplished to this point, tgey have a better resume than most, I'll take that.
It won't be easy, but this team.is easily good enough to do it and they'll be at full strength.
We will see. I believe we win there when I see it. We seemed cursed there. I mean our final 4 team lost there by 32 at full strength. Then somehow beat kentucky without our only nba prospect out a few weeks later in the elite 8.
Been a lot of weird games between those 2 programs since BP got there.
That 2019 E8 game hurt, we had it won and let go if the rope.
UK winning on the plains last year was crazy to me, I didn't think that was possible.
Oof tough loss. We definitely did NOT deserve to win that one, but I'm glad they didn't quit. That ****in guy that looks like the dude from requiem for a dream killed us lmao. Good win for Mizzou.
I was watching it with the sound off, that kid hit every three he threw up.
I didn’t see this one coming.
We came into that game with low energy. Mizzou came into it razor focused. They straight up punked us in that first half similar to how we did vs UT. Florida fought to get back in it (refs mighta helped a bit too) and still whenever we had a chance to close the gap we also messed up. They miss 2 fts then we miss 2/3. Just one of those nights. First game I've seen Martin play poorly. Proud of them for not quitting though.
Those two games last night (yours and Bama's) should be a warning to everyone in the SEC, you better come out of the gate with your hair on fire in every game, or you're going to get beat.

They made some crazy 3s thats for sure. have to go back and look at their percentages but they seemed to be unable to miss for a bit.
For as much as the annoying refs stop games to review every damn touch foul, it would be nice if they reviewed the SUPER obvious.
Crazy Texas is favored over Mizzou. Vegas predicting a fixed game? SMH.
Part of me wants to see Mizzou and Ole Miss go back to where they belong, I'm not ready for them to be good right now.

He gets zero calls. Condon literally hangs on him every play. No call. Auburn isnt ahooting well enough to win but if broome got half the calls dudes like flagg he would score 40 a game
we got Texas and Mizzou on the road, and we lost to Ole Miss at home for our only conference loss yet.
I think bama, florida, Tennessee, and Auburn are all top 5 teams. Three SeC teams will be 1 seeds and one is going to a 2 seed with Duke
No doubt we are looking better. But with road games at Rupp, Ole Miss and aTm, I am not yet predicting a one seed. And thats not even counting Bama coming in. Too much good basketball left.
Hopefully you guys can shoot better Tuesday, 35 missed threes was crazy.

Give it a rest dude, you seem to think Auburn is the new guard because they had a couple good seasons. Let's see what happens when you have to replace Bruce Pearl. That’s when you find out what kind of program you have.
UK will always evolve, if you don't know that now, you will figure it out soon.

Actually, you can’t guarantee anything. 10 years ago, did anyone ever predict the KC chiefs would be going for a 3 peat? No.

UK went to four FF's in 5 years and owned the SEC. Sure, the SEC wasn’t as strong as it is right now, but it’s not always going to be this strong. eventually the 5th and 6th year guys will be gone.
And before anyone says I'm saying UK is going to dominate for a 10 year stretch at some point, I'm not, I'm just saying you can’t say it can't happen, because you don't know what the future brings.
You can predict some things. SEC dedication to CBB has come to pass, so that's not a prediction. The SEC is no longer a one hit wonder. The conference is bottom up highly competitive. That is not because of a few random great players, but due to SEC programs massively upgrading coaches, staffs, and facilities. UK is still good, but the competition is on par.
Yeah, the SEC is great THIS YEAR, but you have no idea what changes will be made in the future, which coaches will leave and who their replacements will be.
You have no idea what NIL changes will be made.
Do you have faith in Tennessee, Auburn and Alabama to replace their current coaches with equal to, or better coaches?
The ACC is exhibit A and it's the only exhibit I need. They are a basketball conference, but it’s a dumpster fire and it most likely will be for a few years.
Duke is going to own that conference for a while. Do you trust Hubert Davis to get unc back to the top and hold it there? I don't. They lost 2 FF coaches this year, Bennett won a title. If it can happen to the ACC, it can happen to the SEC and I trust UK to do everything possible to protect the brand and do everything possible to get UK back to where it belongs.
I think you are failing to take my point. The same principal I made at UK applies to everyone else too. This will affect UK more because of the status y'all once held. NIL will/is turning recruits "into how much you paying players". Legacy means nothing to 95% of them.
