Indiana knew May would rather coach at a competitive school
1. IU was a year late for May.
2. In their search, the Hoosiers must have gotten the message that May wasn't leaving Michigan.
May is better than anyone that would’ve seriously considered Indiana. One sweet 12 years. Only 4 sweet 16s this century. Shitty program.
I believe both parties have kept the information private out of respect for each other, which is why there were never any leaks.

Correct, all we have is the coach speak comments from May. I was just interested in what the loud mouth from UM had to back up his claims.

May lost to northwestern in the round of 64 last year.
So he’s gotta go back 3 whole years to double IU’s sweet 16 total over the past 12 years.
I mean just like two weeks ago the guy was constantly posting about how May hadn’t publicly turned down the job lol

This was recorded a week after IU hired CDD...so of course coach speak. Had he said this a month ago, it would be different.
Bottom line is that no one here knows what did or did not transpire as Scott kept the process very tightly sealed. In fact what we have heard from CDD himself indicates that Scott focused in on him early, which is where the pearl clutching by WVU and PU fans started.
May may not have ever been contacted...but he and several others quickly leverages the possibility into a pay raise.
