Big games today.
I believe Izzo and co can get it done.
If Sampson can't get that offense going he is going to lose to TN.
Go Sparty
Still trying to overcome the curse of Lorenzo Charles!Pulling for Houston as well, they’ve always been so close. Hope this is the year
Yeah but dat defenseHouston's offense isn't good enough to beat Duke and Florida, they barely got 62 points against Purdue's defense
I wasn’t pulling for anyone in that game. Just an observation.Pulling for Houston as well, they’ve always been so close. Hope this is the year
Been down for awhile. BIG is it’s own worst enemylol our conference is a f*cking joke every year
I will never understand why it gets the hype during the season

Speak for yourself. We've beat some very good teams in the non-conference the last few years. It’s the same pattern every year:
-Season starts with a few B1G teams ranked
-B1G teams play the blue blood schools in these early tournaments and get beat (MSU every single year in these big matchups)
-Proceed to play a bunch of high school level teams and rack up wins so they have impressive stats
-Beat each other up but is deemed a tough conference because of inflated records
-Have random big mid season wins (for instance OSU kicking the shit out of Kentucky this year they proceeding to continue sucking)
-Get 8-9 teams in the tournament. 4-5 of them are eliminated after the first weekend
-The rest slowly bleed off
Rinse, wash, repeat

Purdue has wins over:
North Carolina
Villanova
Marquette (twice)
West Virginia
Gonzaga (twice)
Duke
Tennessee
Alabama (twice)
Arizona
Ole Miss
All in the last 4 years.
The entire wrestling-match nature of the play in the BIG is not built for sustained sucess in the tournament, nor is it very enjoyable to watch. If IU played in a different conference... the BIG is not the league I would watch very often. It’s the same pattern every year:

100% spot on.The entire wrestling-match nature of the play in the BIG is not built for sustained sucess in the tournament, nor is it very enjoyable to watch. If IU played in a different conference... the BIG is not the league I would watch very often.
The league needs more skilled guards that can defend without wrestlng to keep up and many guards in the portal won't choose the BIG if they have the choice. There are new coaches coming in and perhaps they will update the play.
The "Three yards and a cloud of dust" label was not flattering. Meyer did a lot to change that as did Joe Tiller (Purdue coach) with what was labeled "basketball on grass", he took a stalled program and went upbeat and they won...and the fans loved it and came back.100% spot on.
The current state of the conference in basketball reminds me of how it was for football. Perceived as really good all year and then inevitably losing in the post season. I don’t want to say Urban Meyer single handedly changed the whole B1G but the way he came in and started recruiting definitely brought the conference up to date with how other teams play and recruit. Now, it’s the best/second best conference, and it’s not just assumed as they prove it on the field. Like you said, hopefully one of these new coaches come in and make a difference like that
