High Point played well but Purdue was just too much. Kudos to them for bringing such a good crowd but not surprised with it being their first appearance. Still a pro-Purdue crowd but High Point showed up.
The Clemson and McNeese fans definitely rooted for High Point when they got within 3 in the 2nd half.
I was never worried. Didn’t shoot well and still easily covered the spread.

Purdue had too many athletes for them and way too physical.
There was a lot to like about that High Point team.
I can see why some were saying they were a potential Cinderella against the right matchup.

Yeah we’ll see what um team shows up. Just do the dumbest stuff and have some fatal limitations.
Seems like we get blown out or win by 1 possession every game.
It’s crazy.
But even when they do stop with the turnovers …they don’t really make FTs, they don’t really rebound, and they have no depth. Like those are like the pillars of what gets you beat.. especially in March.
Typical Michigan game: sizable first half lead. Seemingly in cruise control. Numerous turnovers and missed free throws coupled with the other team heating up shooting wise. Lucky Donaldson hit another big shot.
And it’s not like they chip away at the lead either.. it’s like an under 2 minute 12 pt swing every time lol. Ridiculous.

Should be a really good game. Both teams seem to play a lot of close ones, so I’d be surprised if it isn’t a nail biter. A&M also has some big physical dudes that can match up.
An underrated stat is “extra scoring chances per game” - it’s essentially your net turnover margin + net rebounding margin, representing how many more scoring opportunities you get vs your opponent.
It’s absolutely the key to Houston’s success. They are really average in things like FG% and eFG%, but because they barely turn it over and rebound the hell out of it, they get way more opportunities…making their ugly offense #11 in KP efficiency.
A&M is elite in this category, while Michigan is in the 300s and last in the B1G. It’ll be interesting to see that play out, as it was obviously the key in UCSD’s come back attempt.

Agreed, but there was a push by a lot of morons on the dogs against us (Liberty, High Point, San Diego, etc).
