***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Agreed, same with Sparty though
Our guards are nothing special, but Jase is probably the most talented guard amongst the three teams.

What makes MSU good is we legit play 10 guys and have elite D.

But every time I get down on B1G hoops this year, no one around the country really impresses me outside Duke and a couple SEC teams.

Def agree Jase is the best guard from those 3 teams, feels like Sparty has no consistent scorer after Jase.

Shocked if Big Ten gets a final four team this season.

Looking at most valuable player to a team, relative to their teams win/loss success, Garcia has to be two or three in the league, and only clearly behind Braden Smith.

This Minny team has 15 wins, and without Garcia, they are maybe a 8/9 win team as best case.

Purdue without Smith, probably still a 12/13 win team would be my best guess.

Haven't watched enough Tonje and how valuable he is to Bucky, but have to believe he has a similar winning impact for them as Garcia.

There are a number of solid guards in the BIg including Jase and Holloman plus Tonje, Ace Baldwin, Dylan Harper and despite recent struggles Brandon Smith at Purdue is still an upper tier BIG G.

Regardless, I don’t see much tournament potential outside of Mich St

Hope I am wrong

And I couldn't care less about how many teams from the conference make the tournament. It doesn't matter, and it typically results in more embarrassment.
It’s not like I root for you sad sacks anyways. I always want to be the last team standing and see the rest crash and burn. Embarrassment likes company.

Seems like Duke and Auburns to lose this year.

We’ve got others. It’s not a 1 man show. Tonje can microwave with the best of them though. We handled USC with him scoring 0.

Michigan could lose the first round or make a run. Who knows.

When I do brackets I give a slight edge to teams with unique makeups or styles of play. VCU’s havoc defense. Syracuse’s zone. Stuff like that that teams sometimes only have 1 practice to prepare for.

Michigan’s two 7 footers might play well in the scenario. Who knows

Agreed. Wolf is so unique that most teams won't have seen something like him.

The key to a deep run IMO is if you can get your 3P mojo back. Michigan was dreadful from three the entire month of February (50-181 for 27.6%). Get that back to 35% and you'll be hard to beat.

MSU always gets home cooking! Its not fair!

Wisconsin only been blown for two fouls at MSU at the under 8 timeout. Lol

Akins with twice as many made 3's as Wisconsin's entire team in the 1st half. And Sparty is still down 2? WTF?

Of course he makes everything he throws up against us. I haven’t seen him make a shot in the 5-6 times I’ve watched msu.

That's the thing about MSU--we get guys to step up who are capable, but not consistent.

Kohler who isnt that good killed Illinois. Holloman killed Michigan. Akins killed Wisconsin.

I’ll give full props you guys got it done. No stars/first team all-conference guys but it didn’t matter. Heck of a team effort.
