I agree, but no way you can call that many fouls, both coaches and assembly hall would be pissed. Furst also kind of had some extracurricular activities on the ground before the nut kick, but yeah, for the refs to call nothing on that sequence was interesting. B1G refs gonna B1G ref.

I was actually looking down court when it happened so had to rely on the replays there and late last night.
They got tangled up and Furst clearly pulled him down and then tried to trip Leal as he got up. Bush league shit by Furst for sure but no HnH on him IMO. Maybe a common foul because Leal kicks back either to free his leg or kick him or both...no one knows for sure but Anthony and the Purdue fans.
AL is a fantastic kid and it would be 100 miles out of character for him to kick him in the junk intentionally. Furst also plays it up bigly considering he was barely touched if at all.
Anthony is fortunate he did not get tossed, and they could have called offsetting fouls (and surprised they didn't)...but I think they got it right. Get up and play on. IMO they did miss the F1 on Renn, Gallo was in his space. Kudos to Renn for not crying about it.
Purdue players sob and cry like middle school girls after every call and it is killing their focus. Painter needs to get them off of their echo chamber social media where pu fans are sobbing uncontrollably and back in the game before they end up a seven seed.

Feel like the refs used a little common sense parenting. Leal absolutely tried to kick back at Furst. Furst absolutely tried to trip leal then trap his legs. Even Stevens. Also funny note Woody is 4-4 against Purdue during one of Painters most impressive runs.
Another thing I noted was that Loyer was chirping at the IU bench quite a bit in the first half, I think they noticed.
Didn't catch the game, was it simply two teams shooting like garbage or did the refs let both teams play super physically?
Both teams shot under 30% from the field, both teams shot under 20% from 3, both teams shot under 65% from the line. 🤮
Both. Physicality was a big part of it and not many fouls were called.. but nobody could make an open 3 or FT either. Just a classic B1G rock fight with a lid on both rims the entire game.
Someone should have been recording him from day one and making a reality tv show/documentary out of it. Destined to have plenty of drama in each episode.
His AD thought it was a good idea to play someone with a pulse in the non-conference.

He’s been such a beast! He stared the season on the bench and Harris-Smith starting, however that was switched around after first 10-12 games.
Honestly I’ll put MD’s starting lineup with anyone. Problem is players can foul out and potentially injured, which means a bench player will have to play. Gap is pretty big from our starting lineup to bench. Expect Harris-Smith to transfer in the off-season
I’ve seen multiple national media say the same thing about Maryland’s starting five recently. I would argue it is definitely the best in the Big Ten.
