MSU has these stretches of just awful basketball that cost us in Kansas and today against Baylor, and nearly did against Uconn. We have in stretches looked like a really good team, and then in stretches looked like a MAC team.

I never said Jones would be better just that he should be the same level. So far not good. Impossible to bat 1.000.
But you really don’t see how it’s silly to judge a team based on November/December? Michigan went from borderline top 25 last December (per you) to top 5 team.
We’ll see if these team can work things out. Maybe they’ll continue to suck, maybe not.
We looked pretty tired. 3 tough games in 3 days will do that. Baylor is still a better team but they aren’t as far apart as the score would indicate. We’ve played 2 home games this year and 5 on the road or neutral sites. Lots of travel. Izzo puts his guys through hell.
MSU is average? We’re 2-2 vs tournament teams. Losses to Kansas and Baylor and wins against Loyola and UConn. 5 of 7 away from the Breslin. Nobody has played a schedule like MSU’s. Our next game is vs Louisville, lol.

Right. We have 4 new guys in the rotation and are missing possible rotation guard Zeb Jackson. I’m still confident that our front court will be fine and we’ll see how our guard rotation looks after a month or two. Trying to figure out lineups/a rotation that works has been brutal.
