You think he’ll leave to be a second rounder after this year?
You think he will make his way into the 1st round by staying another year? What is he going to improve in order to get into the first round? Is he going to become a 40% 3pt shooter? Is he going to become quick enough to guard in space? No. If he comes back, he will continue to do what he is doing now, expect for 30 mpg.

Why didn’t Kofi go last year then?
Because he was told he wouldn’t be drafted? I’m saying if Edey gets a second round guarantee he would be foolish not to take it. No upside to coming back.

It’s not like Kofi is playing himself into the 1st round this year. If he came back to improve his draft stock, he failed.

Yes? If he has a second round grade already, why would he stay? He isn’t going to be a first rounder. His NBA weaknesses are not things that can be developed.

I think he can make it to the first round. Swanigan did and he was an undersized PF who wasn’t a good defender. Edey can stay another year, continue to improve, and move up the draft boards IMO.

Swanigan came back and shot 48% from 3. Even then it was a shock that he went in the 1st. What do you think Edey improves on in order to get into the 1st round?

I personally don’t think he’ll be a first rounder unless his footspeed gets significantly better.

But I think the same about Kofi. Come back, make a killing off NIL, become one of the faces of college basketball, then go be a second rounder.

You think Garza was graded as second rounder and Kofi wasn’t?

Like I said many kids know the money is bigger as a star in college basketball nowadays than on a 2-way contract in the NBA/G-league.

Purdue isn’t the same as Illinois or other Big Ten schools as far as NIL is concerned.

Even then, if a second rounder makes it on a NBA roster, they are making significantly more than anything NIL could pay.

Garza made $950k in salary this year. Kofi is nowhere near that in NIL.

Yes, I do think Garza had a higher grade than Kofi did. He can play inside and out.

Lolz Kofi is making well over a $950k

And if NBA scouts had Garza graded higher they are dumb as a rock. Dude can’t guard his own shadow

Maybe for Purdue that’s the case.

I know it’s not for Illinois, at least for Kofi. Haven’t heard the details for everyone else.

Lol got a link to Kofi’s earnings? No? I thought not.

Kofi also is not a great defender and Garza is far more versatile offensively.

You’re very naive if you think I’m the one with the “proof” of his earnings.

I know who I heard it from (the same guy who told me Kofi was coming back all summer) and he says Kofi is 1.25-1.5M by the end of the season.

He also thinks Kofi will be back unless a team guarantees a multi-year contract in the second round.

Kofi is a significant, significant step up on the defensive side of the ball compared to Garza. Shooting is irrelevant to me at the center position when you are a revolving door at the rim.

Is it the same guy who told you NBA accounts were saying the D3 kid was better than Ayo? No chance Kofi is getting that much. That would be reflected in your recruiting, and obviously that isn’t happening.

NBA personnel seem to disagree with your analysis. I would be surprised if anyone gave him a 2 year guarantee pre draft. That doesn’t happen for players in the 50+ Range.

We aren’t guaranteeing that money for recruits… It’s just one data point and I doubt many can make as much money as Kofi at the college level.

NBA personnel would also disagree with me on where Ayo should’ve been drafted. Like I said before Kofi should be able to get drafted at Garza’s range, but why do it if you are making more money now?

Ayo got a guaranteed 2-year at pick 37. Wanna say Tillman from Michigan St did the year prior as well.

Because he’s not making more money now, and he isn’t being projected in the Garza range.

Did you not see where I said 50+? Kofi is not a high second round pick. If he works hard enough, he can become a Thomas Bryant. Doesn’t seem to have that work ethic though.

I think he can improve his agility/stamina/foot speed while continuing to get stronger. The guy is still super raw from a basketball perspective and can still improve a lot IMO.

He can improve his stamina, but improving agility and foot speed is not likely. Let’s say he could do that, the NBA would be better suited for making that transition.

If he isn’t a second round pick this year, that’ll really suck for you.

Another year of having Illinois dog-walking Indiana at their own place.

Idgaf what Kofi decides to do.

He can comeback and make his $50k in NIL deals for all I care.

You have any examples of Purdue NIL deals other than doing Cameo’s?

SS has a deal with Dutch Farms and I know a lot of them have those t-shirt deals like a lot of the IU guys do. I’m sure there are more.

It’ll be interesting to see.

Lol Tshirt deals. Those are tiny. The majority of the NIL that we know about comes from The Collective, and TJD has multiple with businesses around Bloomington.

No way TJD stays next year right? How much do you think he’s making in NIL?

I didn’t think he would stay this year. I don’t think he has done anything to improve his stock, but I could see him leaving just to leave.

I would guess he’s in the $200k-$300k range.
