....Cal is loading up on PGs. Going to be interesting to see how he makes it work.

Quade Green- Soph
Ashton Hagans- Freshman (expected to reclassify)
Tyrese Maxey- Freshman (all accounts are that he's going to UK/reclassifying)
Immanuel Quickley- Freshman

Maybe he simply determines the 2 duos that work best together and subs them both in/out as needed.

Would love to see these guards have the options of Montgomery, Washington, Vanderbilt & Gabriel to work with, although James Wiseman has just stated that he'd love to play with Hagans and Maxey if they're both reclassifying.

I'm not expecting that Gabriel, Washington and Vanderbilt are all coming back, but I'd certainly take 2 of 3 in that regard. A sophomore Nick Richards could help with the loss of whoever leaves out of these 3 players, but he had better improve.

Add in Tyler Hero a healthy Jamarl Baker.... both outstanding shooters.... could be a case of
'Platoon 2.0' (....and inevitably a re-run of coaches of other programs using it against Cal on the recruiting trail.)

Someone's gonna be unhappy. Respect to those kids if they all stay and fight for the job, though.

Not as much as you’d think. Maxey will be the starting SG (good size, outstanding scorer at all 3 levels). That leaves Green and Hagans as the two point guards (unless there’s foul trouble, then Maxey can slide over to the point.

I doubt UK lands Maxey.

Quade Green is gonna show up at the first practice and Cal is gonna look at him and say, "oh you're still here?"

Take a hint kid, blue bloods ain't for everyone.

As long as 1 of the 3 is cool with coming off the bench at both guard spots it's a good rotation. It worked well for KU in 2008 with Robinson , Collins , and Chalmers. Same thing with 2011 UConn when they had Kemba , Napier , and Lamb. Though Lamb was more of a SG he was smallish for the position at 6'5 and thin , but long arms.
