Louisville guys, Chris Mack?

A lot of posters on the board I'm banned from lol, do not and I repeat DO NOT want a Nba team. Not sure the logic, maybe some aren't fans of the the Nba and others think it will take away from the University. I personally would love it, as I can't stand the Warriors here in the Bay, yet still go to Oracle because it's fun af to watch the best of the best play. I don't see any reason why any fan, regardless of allegiance, would consider it a bad idea for an Nba team to come to Louisville and play at the Yum.
It's amazing how many UL fans do not want another team playing at the Yum. UK or an NBA team. The mentality reminds me of Sméagol from the Lord of the Rings. It's theirs and only theirs.

I think a lot of it has to do with just not liking the NBA for some fans. I think once the U of L portion of Louisville understood having an NBA franchise play in the Yum! wouldn't hurt the Cards in any way, shape, or form, they would be fine with it.

....pending lawsuit/settlement with Jurich $__________ not yet determined.
....pending lawsuit/settlement with Pitino $__________ not yet determined.
....return of $15 million to NCAA

.....these are gonna add up. Better hang on to Padgett... you won't be able to afford Mack for awhile.

As you keep repeating the same drivel, the topic kind of shifted. Stay on track, little dude.

I don't get the confusion of thinking it would hurt the Cards in anyway. If someone doesn't like the NBA, then don't go. Here in Memphis the Grizzlies and Tigers play in the same building and doesn't affect either team or specific fans.

It would be the same feeling if the team was said to be located in Lexington. A portion of UK fans would find some way to worry about it hurting the Cats. Same thing here. No big deal.

I guess I don't understand that line of thinking. Memphians wanted an NBA team and was super excited to share a building with them. But yeah, it's no big deal. Some think a NBA team would be good for the Yum and some don't want it out of...paranoia/fear? IDK.

I really think that's all it is. There's not really much logic behind it, but Kentuckians care about their schools and teams, and some Louisville fans just don't want to see their team become second fiddle or anything (which it never would)

Totally see your point about Memphis, too. A little different for us in Kentucky, though. For one, we don't have any pro teams while Tennessee had a couple already. Two, college sports don't dominate in that area like they do here. Kentucky and Louisville basketball are much bigger than Memphis basketball is.

Twiddle dee and twiddle dumb have spoken...

.....one of your own has done the work for me, lunkhead. His handle is simply 'GoCardinals'.

...if the following comes to fruition, uofl just isn't going to be broke, their going to be out in the streets begging for change...

"Worse case scenario = $15 million fine from NCAA + $50 million lawsuit from Pitino + potential Jurich Lawsuit (let's say $35 million) = $100 million

plus

unknown NCAA sanctions due to Adidas/FBI + potential loss of Adidas deal $60 million + loss of future TV revenue & merchandising + tarnished reputation + loss of student enrollment + future cuts by Gov Bevin in other University areas + $xxx millions of donations lost for Athletics and the UofL Foundation

The potential for $100-$200+ million impact all caused by:

a. 2 rogue assistant coaches (McGee & Fair)
b. An athletic director who cooperated fully with the NCAA (NEVER DO THAT AGAIN)
c. A coach who kept saying "the truth will set you free" (it may get someone jail time)
d. Chuck Smrt$%^& (the guy with no vowels, how many millions did we pay him?)
e. James Ramsey (Where are the billions?)
f. A UK president (Postel put UofL at risk for wrongful termination lawsuits)
g. Papa John's ego (who obviously wanted to be a bigger boy than Rick at UofL)
h. Matt Bevin and the stupid Board ( who almost caused UofL to lose accreditation and was brought in specifically to get rid of Rick) (anyone is crazy if they don't think politics in this state isn't influenced by UK ) see here https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/joseph-gerth/2018/01/26/kentucky-politicians-most-corrupt-reporters-study/1059184001/

I get sick when I think about what has transpired over the last couple of years. Is this simply bad luck or is some person or group trying to destroy UofL?

Could anyone even make this up for a movie? The movie plot would include:
*UofL's biggest rival paying Katina Powell to lie and/or McGee get UofL in trouble.
*Someone convincing Pitino to hire a high school coach named Fair and then pay him to get UofL in trouble

I seriously think clowns are running the show over there. "

UL's got all the money in the world........ ummmm... eeek.. uhhh.. i'll leave this right ..................here

The budget cuts are more of a Bevin problem. Which affects the state as whole. Education is getting sliced due to the fact that conservatives still think coal is a thriving industry lol. Good stuff. Anyways, to answer your question, yeah we’re not getting as much financial support as we once were, but to see some of you all grasp onto Grissom’s cute “ominous” buzzword, and act like we’re in dire straits is quite laughable.

Tl;dr

The $15 million is pure speculation. It’s been fact checked and wouldnt be close to $15 million. That’s out of the ball park. Also, have you heard of settlements? No? Also, you’re making the FBI situation out to be something more than it is. Multiple schools are involved, not just UofL. You’re attempt at trying to figure out the cost of everything is wishful thinking.

The sad part is, you just spent over an hour pecking at a keyboard over a school that isnt even who you root for. That’s sad.

Had jurich stayed they could have gotten about anybody. Now who knows, most will want to wait and see what happens and I'd imagine the new AD won't be throwing around so much money.
