KU is going to lose to Eastern Wash

He is JT3, he doesnt have a game plan, his team lost to double digit seeded underdogs for 5 years in a row.
KU though isn’t exactly a 3 seed right now. Without our key players, we’re more like an 8/9 seed. History also doesn’t really matter. Sometimes it just takes one player playing above himself, like that lumberjack out there.

Luckily McCormick found his stride and we started hitting some shots.

Getting the 3 balls from Garrett is absolutely huge.

KU fans is Wilson available Monday?

Like clockwork, a midmajor player had the game of his life vs KU in March. But the lumberjack wasn't enough.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Even so, it will likely take him a week just to get into game shape.

Self said he can arrive on Monday. Just will depend on the timing of the game. If KU plays early it’s doubtful he’d make it in time because Wilson has to get tested in the morning, gets results to make 7 negative tests in a row, and then fly to Indy and get tested again and meet the necessary requirements to play. Might be able to get it all done with the late game but unlikely with the early game. With KU and USC/Drake both playing early today it’s likely the winners will play the early game on Monday.

I was impressed with EWU. They came in with a great game plan and played pretty well. Just didn’t have the players needed to win this kind of a game. I’m a big fan of their coach

How effective can a guy be, not practicing for 10 days and then traveling day of to get there just in time for the game? IMO, they’d be best sitting him and if we somehow manage to pull off the next game, we can work him back into the rotation next weekend.

I remember in high school how difficult it was to play on the road cause the traveling took a bit out of you and you never had time to get used to the gym...And that was high school, driving a couple hours away.

Impressive win for Kansas. Looked like they were able to get the most out of their talent to beat Eastern today.

I came away extremely impressed with their coach. Could tell he had KU scouted well. Self had his usual game plan to double the post and force teams to shoot 3s. Works against power 6 conference schools who try to still play through the post and don’t shoot the 3 ball well. Doesn’t work against mid-majors who want to shoot the 3 ball and do it well. Self adjusted and KU upped the pressure and got control of the game. EW looked like they ran out of gas as well and couldn’t handle the increased intensity from KU. Was a good game.

I wouldn't automatically dismiss his ability to have an impact if he plays. I don't think anyone expected McCormack to give us 22 and 9 today, or to be more effective as the game went on.

I think they'd probably be okay without him vs Drake, if they pull off the upset. Not having his rebounding vs USC would be a big problem.

Must be why FSU went 0 for on 3’s today. How does that happen? 😳

I don’t think Drake or USC are potentially good matchups for KU. Drake shoots it well from 3 and appears really good in the PnR both areas KU struggles with defensively. USC is incredibly long and KU struggles with length offensively and rebounding (see Texas). I do think I’d rather see Drake though because KU can probably still score against Drake inside while I think Garrett can slow down Yesufu.

KU's improved a lot at defending the three. I think they held opponents to around 20% down the stretch. Baylor's the top 3-point shooting team in the country and they shut them down. My concern would be a big that can shoot from outside like today but Drake doesn't have that.

I'll take my chances with the decent-shooting undersized team vs the huge, athletic team any day.

I fully expect one of the Mobley brothers to go 4-6 or 5-7 from 3 on Monday.

I’m wondering why USC’s center isn’t in the NBA? 7 footer hitting 3’s, handling the ball on drives, blocking shots.

Yeah, USC is our nightmare matchup. Long and athletic and play zone. We struggle against those teams that force you into jump shots.

USC isn’t as quick as Texas is though. I do agree length is something that gave us fits earlier in the season when we were laboring.
