"Is optional" according to him. I have to think that'll be Arkansas

Cal has usually had great defense numbers going back before Kentucky and afterward. His teams typically do better on the defensive side than the offensive.

It could be, but history doesn't point to Arkansas. Maybe when Musselman was there but I don't know enough about his defensive numbers.

The last couple of years he has quit coaching defense, Kentucky gave up 90 point games the majority of the time

Majority?

I counted 7 games in the past last "couple" of years..

*Just 4 of those 7 were losses. 2 were OT games.

Thanks, after reading a bit, where does "defense is optional" come from?

Does he just suck at d and you're saying that or did he?

I saw where he's been out with a thumb injury.
according to our homeboard he said he didn't want to play D because it didn't prepare him for the NBA

Calipari always coached defense, especially the first few months of each season. It's the offense he didn't worry about. He figured it would take care of itself with all the 5* Not shocking a Vol has no fvcking clue what they're talking about.

did he play much? Looks like he did not. He only played in 4 games, approximately. 10 minutes per game. Doesn't look like a big deal if he transfers.

I mentioned it in another thread.

I don't think he said he wanted to play were defense was optional. That's probably just homeboard rumor stuff. It seems like a silly decision though considering he was probably about to start getting some legit playing time for the #1 team in the country. It was a weird decision, probably brought on by listening to people who don't really have a clue what is in his best interest.

Yeah, I don't doubt something like that could happen. Why not just wait until the end of the year though? If you are truly good enough that money, or more, will still be there then. Just seems impulsive.

kid seems like a jerk

That’s today’s youth for ya.

I run a construction business, these young kids want big dollars for doing nothing but showing up to work only 1/2 hour late and if you don't give them what they want, they quit without even telling you and it's getting worse.

Yeah, one of my buddies runs a lumber yard and every week when I play golf I ask him how many people quit this week and he always has some interesting stories, lol. I worked 7 days a week for years because while I grew up poor I was taught how to work for whatever I wanted/needed. Plus, these young people don't understand that if you just pay your dues and work while you are young you can then spend your elder years playing golf and vacationing, which is pretty awesome. You have to pay your dues at some point though.

These kids have no idea what paying your dues actually means. They think everyone is supposed to just overlook all the times they were late, didn't show up at all, screwed shit up and explained to everyone just how much they don't care.
So because they bought a car they can't afford, they think I owe them a raise because a certain amount of time elapsed.

Carr is a talented kid and he has been a Vol for a while. His defense or lack thereof has hampered his playing time. His minutes had gone up, but he had a thumb injury. He would probably have been given a larger role, but he chose to move on. His choice to leave without a word is a bad look, but whatevs.
