Always great to win on the road. Self is a master at end of game situations.
Won by 1 after losing the turnover battle 16-7 and foul battle 22-14. I’ll more than take it.
Especially because we allow fans.

Yeah, couldn't tell whether that happened because of the whistle and TO or if he just lost it. Regardless, great win for you guys. Fun game to watch.
I mean KU went 14-15 from the FT line but the last FT attempted was by Tech at the 7:50 mark. The game was won with Self going to the zone the final 10 minutes and Tech having no idea how to attack it.

Kentucky is a blueblood and Tennessee has never beaten UK consistently. Well, except for the last 5 years under Barnes where UT has an edge over the Cats.

Good game. Definitely hurt. We had our opportunities. Free throws sucked and Kyler being a no show hurt us, he did absolutely nothing for us. Need Shannon and McClung to keep playing like this. Add McCullar in the next week or so and I will feel a lot better.

You see it when some teams play too hard defensively. They get too amped for a game and go for every loose ball, rebound, steal, etc. You love to see hustle, but yeah it does often result in poor free throw shooting. I’ve seen a lot of teams over the years get amped up to play KU, and they’ll get a really nice 10 minute defensive stretch and out hustle us, then blow the game on free throws or short jumpers at the end cause they had no gas left in the tank.

Eh, I've seen him watch many replays of a Duke guy flopping and be completely silent. Again, I'm a huge fan and think he is more than fair in regards to Duke (and extremely complimentary of UNC and Roy). At times he tends to not call out Duke for the level of flopping they tend to roll out there though.
Yep. You can see it free throws too. If a player has been on the floor for awhile without a sub or TV TO, the shot is off.
Good coaching is so key if you play that way

Seems like a big if at this point. Although Self was hyping him as the team’s best player in preseason. It’s hard to imagine based on this set of games.
Yes, UNC can be good. That will require the freshman to grow up and it will primarily require the team to become a good shooting team. So that can happen? Just not sure it will.
That play was weird because it looked like the TTU player was shocked he was left wide open and then decided to shoot the ball. Then halfway through his thought process he wasn't sure about shooting the ball and the ball just flew out of his hands. It was fortunate Beard was able to get the timeout called in time.
