Is Tennessee gonna be as good next year?

Well, Admiral Schofield is a senior, so they won't have him.
Williams and Bone are Juniors. I'm sure Bone will stay, but Williams might want to go to the league while the iron is hot.
If Bone and Williams come back, good luck. Ethan Happ ain't walking through the door next year.

As previously mentioned, depends on if Bone and/or Williams return. We add 5 star Josiah James, so if both come back we will still be a top 10 team. If both leave, we’re probably a 6-9 seed type team. If one returns we’re probably somewhere in the middle.

Depending on where our football team goes for bowling, I might make it to Knoxville before new year for the basketball game.

I ask, because Wisconsin's added a home-and-home series with them in 2019 and 2020.

For an honest answer, I bet Grant leaves as he seems to be playing himself into a first round pick. Both Admiral and Kyle Alexander are seniors. Bone, Bowden, LaMonte Turner will return. TN is redshirting 4star C DJ Burns and get Josiah James for next season.

The chemistry/experience with this team is great. I would expect at least a small step back next season, but still good enough for 20+ wins and tourny appearance.

@della

Well the boys may not win in Knoxville, but the girls went down and got the win tonight. GO CAYUTS:D

Congrats on the WCB win.
I don't see Williams as a first round pick and I think he stays.

Really? I've seen a few people refer to him as a first round pick. ESPN currently has him at 28, one ahead of Schofield, on their Top 100.

He is undersized.

Tennessee loses Schofield, Kyle Alexander, and possibly Grant Williams. I think Williams will be a 1st Team All-American, so very likely that he leaves.

Backcourt next year should be very solid. Some combination of Jordan Bone, Jordan Bowden, Lamonte Turner, Yves Pons and Josiah James (5-star recruit). Not so sure about the froncourt if Williams does, in fact, leave. Fulkerson is efficient, good chance he'd start. Maybe DJ Burns, who would be a redshirt freshmen, starting at the 5? With Williams, Tennessee would be a top 5/10 team. Without him, they're probably in the 20-25 range.

Will be interesting to see how Wisconsin adapts next year without Ethan Happ. Not sure what to expect.

Isn't he 39% for the year from 3?

Edit: And an 80% FT shooter?
His shot between the foul line. He wouldn't be drafted for 3pters, but he could improve his mid range.

Della was being Della nice.
Do you always read things literally?
He was just being a knucklehead. Seems like the Badgers routinely field good teams. I'm looking forward to the series.

Kudos to Tennessee and Wisconsin for scheduling this. I'd love to see more of it, especially from the other SEC schools who are doing well.

The biggest problem is outside of Kentucky everyone is so inconsistent. So who knows whether Tennessee will be good or not once these guys graduate. Regardless, CBB needs more of these games, and less of the cupcakes in Nov/Dec that dont move the needle.

How many college players couldn't you say that about.

I think the list narrows when you are discussing 1st rd draft picks. Regardless, the thread is an opinion thread and I have given mine in an unbiased way.:)

I am sure veins were popping out of his forehead as he was typing that, he was so triggered.

No maybe not. But I think his response was a bit of an over reaction since it wasn't quoted to him in the first place. But, never the less it's a message board. Carry on...

Which is the reason he needs to bolt as soon as he gets the chance. If he passes up the chance this year, he may not get another shot.
Jeff,
You are really thoughtful sharing your selfless concern for a Vol athlete.:)

So CATS, you think Williams is a 1st rounder next draft?

I think he's a very good college player. But probably not a 1st round pick JMHO. I think He'll make a lot of money somewhere if not in the NBA.
