it's early but im not seeing this season shaking out well for him

I think his future will hinge on the month of January. They will be favored vs Rutgers, Penn State, and USC. That likely puts them at 13-3 with 15 games remaining. A .500 finish in those final 15 probably gets them into the tourney.

I highly doubt they'll be favored against Penn State on the road. You're talking about a top 40 team that recently beat Purdue at home.

Most likely. Top 5 nil in the county, no excuses this year as he has tons of talent to work with. They just look so poorly coached. There will probably be a short little turnaround at some point but it won't be sustained.

Lol no it's an elementary joke, you all should be able to do better. I'm not mad just disappointed.
Lighten up Francis. I have far worse jokes than that.

What do you call a man with no arms and no legs, in a pool?

Bob!

What do you call two guys that hang windows for a living.

Is it going to be Brad Stevens next? or is that a unreleastic Pipe dream

Have no idea if the IU administration would approve it, but I would go hard after Chris Beard.

That would be a home run hire...have no idea if IU would take on his baggage, but he would kill it there, in my opinion.

Shit, if they are willing to take baggage they may as well go after Pearl.

Stevens-No but I guess they ask again. Turned down 7years@$10mil/year 4 years ago
Pearl-I just don't think he leaves what he's built in Auburn
Nate Oaks-No real noise about him last time can't imagine that's changed
Pitino-I don't think he leaves New York for Bloomington
Beard-Will the IU admin look past the optics and liberalness from the schools bitchers and moaners. I think he'd take it in a heart beat.
May-Cons are he's only been there one year should he leave? Pros are he's only been there one year no roots yet. He was college roommates with IU AD, mentioned not wanting the spotlight before Michigan hire and while he was at FAU, can he handle all the redneck eyeballs that'll be on him?

After that I think you go into several mid major coaches and it's a toss up after that.

I'm hopeful for one of Beard/May

I always enjoy reading a take by an IU fan that is balanced and reasonable. Well done brother.

This is really the last opportunity to get it right IMO. Bad hire after bad hire has created a very high bar.

The money is there fortunately and NIL/portal allows for a pretty quick fix.

The right choice has to lean heavily into coaching/game management and development as well as identifying players who will not become complacent when they get paid.

Biggest hire of SD’s career is in front of him.

Have to get this right.

Another one that's been mentioned is Cronin. I don't like it but I guess I can see him being a fall back before you go further down.
