Well before that happened all they had to do was convert on 4th and 1 and they likely would've had the game won. They had been dominating the line of scrimmage the entire 2nd half and ultimately decided to punt after trying to draw UK offsides. The rest was history. That happens all the time yet coaches still let their balls shrivel up and get conservative.
Plus they should have just gone with the sneak on 3rd and 1

I just wish that Iowa could have faced our normal defense. UK was missing a boat load of players on defense and offense.

Agreed, but every bowl team is missing players for one reason or another (mostly opt-outs and covid). Iowa was without their 1100+ yard rusher, who had been the majority of their offense this year. I believe I read that LSU is playing their bowl game tonight with 39 scholarship players.

He was my hope for being the starter. I thought we would make the playoffs with him in a few years but he has moxy and might throw picks.

No, from what I hear, this dude is a gamer but will throw the occasional pick because he is trying to make things happen.

This is why he transferred. Joking or not that is a pretty F-ed up thing to say. If Hogan is worse than Petras though, woof. That dude couldn't throw it in the ocean from 10 yards away.
This. And this was so out of character of our coach, but he gets frustrated at the press. Iowa can be a fish bowl because it's the only thing we have in sports.
I know Kirk regrets it. I am almost positive he would have been our starter next year.

I can't imagine running a team and having to manage parents egos as well. I think that goes overlooked on how difficult that must be. Especially in football.
I know Kentucky was missing a lot but woof if their QB was even average they would have run away with the game. Kentucky had 2 good drives the entire game. Feel like that QB missed half a dozen wide open guys.
Yeah, he had receivers streaking all over the field with no defenders within 10-15 yards and he was firing duds left and right. Passes that were so far off the receivers didn't even have a chance to make a play. 😆
