That is crazy impressive. Losing Roy might have been the best thing to happen to you guys. Getting him was definitely the best thing that happened to the Heels in my lifetime. 3 ships. Not gonna sweat the NIT years.

He just doesn't really know what he is doing, which is reasonable since he has never done it before. He doesn't know how to handle the media, get the guys to run an offense, get them to guard someone on defense, handle the bench, handle the starters, deal with PT all around, set and handle expectations, etc... I almost think he is too nice of a guy for the job. He seems to care about a lot of things a lot more than basketball and that really isn't the case with better coaches/players, certainly not the best.

The biggest difference is when KU was the favorite to win it all 09-10, 10-11 , 16-17 they choked. When Roy was the fav 05-09-17 they won it all. Obviously 3>1... KU has traded greatness ( multiple titles) for the most amazing consistency ever. 32 straight ncaa tournaments . Would have been 37 if KU wasn't banned from 89 tourney, that team would have been a high seed.

5 Elite eight losses hit hard. We had bad matchups. UCLA as a 2 seed playing in CA in 07. 16 we were overall #1 and played 2 seed Villanova who should have been a 1 seed and not the 4th overall 2.

He gets waxed by any decent team they play. Defense really doesn't even resemble anything approaching competence. Sometimes they get lucky and teams miss. He admitted he doesn't scout teams anyway so it's no surprise he would do something as dumb as put Bacot on Paulo. He doubled down on it after the game so will probably do it again the next game. Offense is guys dribbling around chucking it. Luckily they are sometimes hot and make a bunch of shots though. The few times they were pressed it looked like they had never practiced it before.
