Obviously I'm talking about Tennessee vs Kentucky. Kentucky is 2-0 vs Tennessee this year.

I still remember 1988 when Oklahoma beat Kansas twice, but couldn't get that 3rd victory when it mattered most, in the national title game.

So I was wondering how often it has happened where one tourney team has beaten another tourney team 3x in a season. Bonus points if that 3rd time happened in the tourney.

Probably never happened but there could be a chance a team has beat another team 4 times in a season.

twice regular season, conference tournament, NCAAT

duke and UNC might now something about this.

Doesn't quite answer the question but I saw the other day that when teams meet for a 3rd time in the same season, and one team won the 1st two, they also win the 3rd 73% of the time. I'm guessing many of those are in the tourney.

would love to see a link to that discussion.

Also I don't trust anything that comes out of your mouth since you're right behind me in the pick em standings.

If both Michigan schools win, they'll face each other for the third time this season.

thanks. The problem I have wiht that stat is it doesn't differentiate between tourney and non tourney teams. I can see where that would greatly alter the numbers. For instance, how many times has this scenario happened with a dominant college team beating a terrible team twice and then facing them in round 1 of the conference tourney?

I'd rather see the stat as it only pertains to two tourney teams.

The 2000 Mich St team beat Wisc four times...twice in regular season, once in conference tourney, then again in the FF.

And it's of note that Wisc only broke 50 pts in one out of the four games, haha.
Would it be safe to say that Wisconsin was essentially cleaved by MSU?

Auburn has already beat ole miss 3 times this year. Could play a 4th time this sunday if we both win tomorrow
I gotta believe that beating a team a 4th time is easier than beating a team a 3rd time. Like by the time you get to that 4th game you completely own that other team.

Bama beat KY 3 times this year, at Rupp, at home and in the SEC tourney.

Oh, nowhere! Just working and driving kids to a million basketball practices and sometimes playing 2k with this redneck I know?:) Nothing interesting!!
I was just talking to Lurkeraspect the other day about how there’s a couple of posters that I wish would get more involved, you being one of them!
