OT: One of the great regrets in my life was settling for finger blasting my 8th/9th grade girlfriend when, in hindsight, boning was 105% an option that was on the table.

Oh I was boning. Finger f***ing just sounded funnier to type lol. There was one chick I regret not making on. She was so intimidating.

Wish I would've stayed in sports though. I didn't make good decisions in high school, but still had a great time. Somehow managed a 3.9 gpa without paying much attention, smoking, drinking, chasing girls... I have no clue how. The schoolwork just came easy.

It’s really dang pretty. And the girls I was hanging out with on the visit were pretty nice themselves. Most of them rich daughters of doctors and business leaders. It honestly was where I was headed until I won District and Region in the 100m my senior year and NC State offered. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I went there and played football.

Memphis...lol yeah not ideal. But at least the BBQ is great, and something tells me if I went there I would have spent most of my off campus free time hanging out in the Memphis country club area with some girl and her parents.

Back to the OP. I took an asfab test in HS (is it called asfab?), I got a lot of calls after that. Texas Tech sent a guy to my kitchen. I was already working on my grandpa's dealership, wasn't interested. Berea College and a few others came to see me. TT was also interested in my drafting/CAD skills. I said thanks but no thanks to all of them, it was probably a mistake. I was a 16 year old senior who finally broke through the chastity belt of my girlfriend. I had a job and a piece of ass and wan't going to leave them.

...only to leave them and state 3 years later. I'm not very bright.

I handed to Brian Clark (wide receiver, 3rd round pick of the Jets) and then Manny ran anchor. It’s just silly to see a guy his size run that fast.

Never got selected but made a few a cuts. You basically just scrimmage while coaches watch. Then they tell people to stay or go.

I was kind of a late bloomer. I probably wasn’t on anybody’s radar until the end of my Junior Year. Even going into my senior year I was only getting recruited by schools like Drury, SW Missouri State and New Mexico. I had a really good meet in December and then some huge meets in the late winter. I ended up taking trips to Iowa State, Kansas and then Nebraska. The last 3-4 months of high school I was getting a bundle of recruitment letters at school and I’d get 3-5 phone calls from coaches weekly. I even got a letter from Eddie Reese and Texas which is the equivalent to K and Duke. He saw me beat one of his recruits at a regional meet so I’ve always figured that had to have been why I was put on his radar. It was a pretty fun time in my life.

Coach John McDonnell won over 40 national championships at Arkansas and coach dozens of Olympians. My brother was there during his 40th (maybe like 38th to 41st) and has a national championship ring with 40 diamonds in it.
