Good Lord, what poor asshole gets UNC in the next round?

You talk about a fvck sandwich. I'm only watching to see if UNC can get the all time beatdown record.

I think UNLV might have it.

UNC is making me want to quit watching the tournament.

Horrible game. SDSU would win 4 games in the Big 10

Does Brian Dutcher work on offensive sets in practice? I would say the look dysfunctional on offense, but that might be wording it too nicely.

SDSU was a 2nd weekend team last year, significantly better than the team this year. And I don't think I can ever forget the fact that they dropped 37 freaking points against Boise State last year (it was 37-37 in the final minute of play lol). If you're picking SDSU to win, you have to be ALL IN on their defense.

Was thoroughly unimpressed with SDSU. Heels played inspired ball, especially on the defensive end. Keep it up and they can make it through the weekend. They could also fall on their face Friday. Riveting analysis, I know. However, what a win. F the haters. Loved seeing Rothstein's sorry ass face after he shit all over us.

Yeah, plus they were younger this year where they usually are pretty upper class heavy I think. Ole Miss is considerably better offensively and more experienced. Brakefield and Pedula will both be guys who give UNC some problems. UNC looked good but Friday is a totally different level. Still, it was nice to shut people up and make them look silly to some degree.

He is a basketball terrorist on offense

People need ro relax a little on the mid major upsets. The transfer portal is going to pillage the talent in those squads more than ever.

I think Ole Miss vs UNC will be a fun one. Pedulla is super annoying and hits shots and Malik Dia is a tank.

Two separate arguments, though. Did UNC merit an at-large bid based on their actual resume? No, I don't think so.

But, I can also acknowledge that they're likely a top 30 team and good enough to win a few games in the tournament. Talented team, just fell short time and time again in the regular season in those high-level contests. But, they're absolutely capable of beating Ole Miss. I'd say it's reasonably close to a 50-50 game.

Sure, and I'm ok with that opinion. I'm not ok with people saying it like it's fact. That is simply not liking UNC. Literally the only metric that warranted the other teams being in over them was the Quad 1 record, and if you argue that you should first argue Xavier should be out (also 1 win and way worse numbers than UNC). There is no argument for Xavier over UNC. Literally every single other relevant metric regarding bubble teams had UNC not only towards the top but #1. So if people want to argue Quad 1 is the main consideration then great, then argue Xavier and UNC should be out. But the whining and consternation from the media is garbage. Just totally out of line.

I just haven't heard yet why everyone's angst is justified. Why is only ONE metric the one we are using versus all of the other ones? I thin the only reasonable answer is because it's UNC. And again, I would have been fine with them being left out. I'm fine with the opinion that they should be and you certainly aren't one who is hollering about it. Just saying in general the anger is not at all justified.

To say there are no arguments to be made for putting Xavier ahead of UNC simply isn't true. There are always arguments to be made by both sides.

Xavier beat 3 tournament teams in the regular season (Marquette, UConn, Creighton), meanwhile UNC only defeated 1 tournament team (UCLA). Xavier has 2 less losses to justify - and Xavier also doesn't have a Q3 loss... Xavier also lost 2 games when Freemantle, their leading scorer, was injured (1-2 without him).

But yes, to your point, UNC is better analytically than Xavier. I'd say they also have a higher ceiling - more likely to reach the 2nd weekend.

They are better analytically than every other bubble team as well.

I know they didn't have a quad 3 loss but figured one loss wasn't that relevant but I see your point. And I actually agree with the tournament team wins but didn't think that was a measure the committee considered since they use the Quad system. I don't consider the injury stuff. If that's the case we can say UNC was a different team once their coach started playing a competent lineup, no? But, I do agree there are always arguments to be made, which actually proves my point that all of the anger and indignation is more posturing by people who dislike UNC than anything else because those people are flat out saying there is no argument to be made for UNC.
