Gonzaga to join B12 in basketball?

Gonzaga and the Big 12 have had at least two discussions about the possibility of the Zags joining the conference.

Now the conference is reportedly discussing Gonzaga’s candidacy as Big 12 presidents and athletic directors conduct meetings Thursday and Friday in Dallas.

CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd reported the Zags are on the meeting agenda and specifically GU’s potential membership in basketball.

Yep, and football is where the money is. Gonzaga has also only been relevant since Mark Few has been the head coach. They weren't even good when Stockton was their point guard.

If Few is still coaching, then no. They won't win the Big 12 every year, obviously. But, they'll consistently have a winning record in league play.

FWIW, Gonzaga has won 19 of their last 24 games against Big 12 schools (79.1%). So before this season where they lost to Texas/Baylor, they had won 19 of the previous 22 games (86.3%).

Gonzaga might miss the tournament in the big 12. No Loyola Marymounts or pepperdines in there.
