Gonzaga Kentucky late night

What a gutsy win by UK.

Good game Zags! No way we should’ve won that game but I love the fight our guys showed. Two top ten wins this early in the season for a group that’s never played together isn’t to bad.

I really hope Kerr is okay. Didnt see him on the bench after the cramps and he took an awkward fall after back peddling and planting on the cramping leg at contact.

Gutsy win. IDK how the Cats look going forward with Butler and now Kriisa hobbled, though.
Passed it right to Gonzaga too. At least he got back on defense before he went out.

It was a really enjoyable game. I only saw the last few minutes and overtime but it was nice to see some high level basketball after having to watch UNC play earlier today.
It was a tale of two different halves. Gonzaga dominated the first half.

Honestly UK fans, I thought Robinson played the point better than Kerr did.

Kerr is pretty damn good in transition, but the ball sticks when he has to run a halfcourt set IMO. He had to play a lot against Clemson and they kept us out of transition, made it hard to score. We need Butler back and to stay out of foul trouble in big games. Feels like Lamont is the only one that can get into the lane in half court sets and draw defenders.

But I agree, Jaxson played really well at the point last night. He won the game for us down the stretch.

Last night was the perfect example of who I hope Pope is as a coach. He has the system of Pitino with the in game adjustments of Tubby. It's fascinating to watch after 15 years of"just roll the ball out" and "tweaks" from the Cal era.

UK didn't have any turnovers once he took over at point, so the last 14 minutes of the game. Impressive, especially considering the pace of play and Gonzaga pressuring the ball. He's not generally known as a great ball handler or decision-maker with the ball in his hands.

Well Kriisa wasn't just cramping, he has a foot injury (Jones fracture) that will require surgery. Out indefinitely.

They now say three to six weeks. That basically covers a lot of the SEC. That really hurts UK.
Yeah, I saw that's what was out there but I have no idea who the "source" is. A Jones fracture that requires surgery generally has a recovery time of 3-4 months, not 3-6 weeks. I guess we'll see how it plays out.
