I was trying to figure out who the assistant coach was for SC when the announcers were talking about Frank Martin getting covid earlier in the season, and then I realized THAT IS FRANK MARTIN.

Man is flat out unrecognizable.

It shows how random the ncaa tournament can be and how any success there can prolong a coach's tenure way past the expiration date. The guy has completely bombed at South carolina other than one mediocre season where his team got hot in March.

Woah, he does not look the same with a shaved head.

Thanks for posting. The pic. No lie and he’s packed on about 75 lbs as well

Martin has had Covid, not once, but twice, and also has alopecia. South Carolina alum and donor here. He's a great guy whose former players love him, and who is genuinely in it for the kids. His run to the FF gave him some breathing room, but this year, with a lot of decent talent, we had extensive issues with Covid, delays, starts and stops and in the end, I don't think he retains. Say what you will, but with Staley's success with the women's program, it only highlights the lack of success with the men's consistently.

I was wondering if something was wrong with him (cancer) but I hadn’t heard of anything. I like Frank, glad it’s nothing major.

If anything, the covid delays and starts will get him another season. I agree though, one tournament appearance in 9 seasons isn't good enough. Even with a Final Four run.
