I was 53 years old when I retired. I enjoyed being retired until I got through doing all my projects that I had listed. I then started looking for things to do.

I have always read a lot and the reading in always on-going.

I ended up running for local office and held public office for 10 years. By then I was 68 and I have been totally retired since then but I still have projects.

I have put in hundreds of hours into FindAGrave. I have created over 2,800 memorials along with several hundreds that I have given away to people who are close kin to the involved person. I also spend a great deal of time on Ancestry. I have 6,168 folks in my family tree. I spend a lot of time documenting the old papers that I got from my family. My grandfather was Kentucky distiller #62 before prohibition and in his Ancestry page I have stuff like his recipe for making 169 gallons of bourbon a day. Stuff like that.

Retired first time at 52. Couldn’t stand not working, and since none of my buddies were retired I was bored as hell. Retired again 2 years ago at 60. Still really miss working, but spend too much time traveling (leaving for Europe this evening) to hold down a job again.
