Yeppers, UT at #2. I knew the matrix had glitched. Glad you got it fixed.TrueSkill Rankings
As I like to tinker with computer rating systems, I have built something extremely similar to Microsoft TrueSkill ratings (the ranking system used for games like Halo etc.). Here are preseason ratings: Win/Loss Only Version Top 25 Rank Team Rating 1 Kansas 35.03 2 Gonzaga 34.23 3 Baylor...rutgers.forums.rivals.com
I suspect you might like these better.
I hate explaining because it breaks the sense of mystery and wonder and hilarity but..Yeppers, UT at #2. I knew the matrix had glitched. Glad you got it fixed.
First of all, I think it is fun that you make it. Secondly, I don't understand it and don't want to. I wasn't complaining in the least. I was just having fun with Hawkit getting so worked up about it.I hate explaining because it breaks the sense of mystery and wonder and hilarity but..
the thing from that other thread is actually trying to be "right" (i.e. predictive of future games) and is something akin to Torvik/Kenpom.
What I post here is something I made for fun a long time ago and basically tries to produce rankings that are similar to what a human would do (and I think do a decent job later in the year with more data). I basically just phase out any preseason weight super early though (after 5 games) because it is entertaining to me to watch teams bounce around until equilibrium is reached.
Thanks for doing this, I think....I hate explaining because it breaks the sense of mystery and wonder and hilarity but..

and there you have it....Well, you just wasted your time on this steaming pile of dog shit
His threads are just as great as his polls. The only poll that matters.
I like that he just comes here, posts his update, and then disappears until next time. Definitely adds to it.
