Rather than tackle the issues in East Lansing head on with the backdrop of a top-five matchup next weekend, they're tucking tail and running to Virginia for a matchup featuring an unranked Virginia Tech team for College Gameday next Saturday.

Wish I was surprised.

EDIT: I suppose MSU could have refused the offer, which would also make sense.

Yeah that’s stupid. Should’ve easily been Purdue/MSU.

Yeah this is pretty stupid.

First time that GameDay will feature an ACC game that doesn't include Duke or UNC though.

I think it's good that Virginia is getting a chance to host, especially with the season they're having.

Just sucks that a top-5 matchup that will likely influence the conference race won't get its due.

Totally agree with you. I'm hoping that MSU declined rather than ESPN being a bunch of betas. But I think I know the reason.

I also hate that VT gets any spotlight at all. They don't deserve it. We beat them by 26 at their place earlier this year.

Since we are having our way with ESPN. I’ll give them a small compliment. Thankfully last night was the last night Jemele Hill ruined a Sportscenter episode. Now if they will change the 6 o’clock version to something more resembling a sports of the day show than another CNN show, we will be good.

UVA-VT should be a good game, but yea.....Purdue and Sparty is the big matchup today.

I hope ESPN isn't welcome in East Lansing.

I'd be salty, too, if journalists reported on systemic failures to address sexual assault complaints at my school.

Will game day be around in another 5-10 years? I don’t even watch it anymore. It’s mostly just an SEC thing these days.

The ones ESPN reported on seemed to be addressed pretty well given that all their info came from police reports.

ESPN isn’t welcome at MSU after trying to equate nasser with Izzo, Dantonio, etc.

I hope nasser burns in hell, I hope anyone who knew about nasser and didn’t say anything burns in hell. But ESPN was sloppy and held back a hit piece for months waiting for the perfect time to drop it.

ESPN would have gotten chewed to pieces and spit back out if they rolled into East Lansing.

Yeah last thing they need are the students either not showing up for game day or booing them out the building.

I doubt the school/program would have allowed them in. It’s the last thing that’s needed.

Yes MSU-Purdue is. A much better game, but given the current climate at MSU bringing gameday there would seem inappropriate. Let UVA fans enjoy it, that is assuming UVA fans or anyone actually cares about it.
