I got a nice comfortable seat near my tv screen. But tanks anyway.
because it was built in 2010 when Auburn averaged like 5-6k at most for attendance to basketball games. This arena seats justbunder 10k now. We were the worst program in the SEC and perhaps the worst power conference team in the country. Our old arena which is actually still standing is right a crossed the parking lot seats more than our new and current one. Had this new arena been built after Pearl got here in 2014 I am guessing it would have been built to seat more as the demand would have called for it. Whats crazy is there is now a long wait list to get season tickets for mens basketball and to be considered you have to have given at least 400k lifetime to Auburn. When i was at auburn in 2004-2008 you could go to gamesfor like $5.00
Crazy on the timing of the new arena construction. I knew the arena was small, didn't realize it was that small. Being as new as it is, doubt there is any chance of an expansion?
Although if that does occur, the university runs the risk of Auburn performing how they did pre-Pearl once he hangs it up/leaves, and the arena is half empty again.
I think Auburn is just now taking the Duke approach with it and being loud and intimidating. Auburn arean seats the same as cameron indoor. Its not really built in a way to expand it
I think NIL funds would be more where pearl wants money than that. He also wants his own praftice facility he doesnt have to share with his womens team. I dont see us expanding the arena
