College basketball bracket preview show

Tech is the only legitimate national title contender in the B12, imo
Thank you. I mean we have our flaws but I do feel like we can potentially beat anyone if we play well.

Kansas if they play to their potential can be quite good. Also they have a go to guy in Agbaji.

Baylor can be good. The can get hot from 3 quickly but Akinjo can dribble the air out of the ball at times as well. The injury to Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua is regrettable.

You don't have a true elite PG or go to guy when you need a bucket. Also, its going to be tough to turn over the top teams in the country in the tournament and rely on defense as much. I could see Tech going on some scoring droughts at critical moments.

That's all I got. I honestly love your roster and think you've got as good of a chance to cut down the nets as anyone else. There's some flaws but no more so than other elite teams. Having 4-5 guys who can all be the 'go to guy" in a big game is huge.

Why is Duke a 2 Seed?
We only have 4 losses total. I wouldn't be surprised if you guys have jumped us by now though so I wouldn't protest either way. You have more Quad 1 wins, no bad losses and are better in the computer metrics.

You said offense but I really wish 3 point shooting was better. We don't have a true elite PG but how many teams have one of those really? Bryson Williams can get buckets but he's a forward. I mean we did lean on the defense in that 2019 run but we are streaky offensively its true.

I mean we do have more losses.

If we just win out for the regular season it will sort itself out. Some Tech fan posted this.

No team with a resume similar to the one Texas Tech is projected to finish with this season has ever been seeded lower than the two-line.

Baylor is still a good team, but they are not what they were earlier in the year. If they can get healthy, they can live up to a 1 or 2 seed possibly. But as they are now, I'd be happy to see them in my bracket as a high seed. They can still beat anybody, but they are a borderline top 15 team right now with the personnel issues they've had.
Baylor if fully healthy and rolling is a 1 seed. They could turn it on still and show it. Plenty of regular season left. They have the talent and tools. With a healthy LJ Cryer, they have 3-4 guys still that can rain 3’s

baylor dude……we have a shot if we can rain 3’s with Ochai, Coleman, Braun and Harris.
I don’t think anyone expects Harris to rain threes. Wilson’s a better bet. He’s been shooting almost 40% the last several weeks.

Baylor's pretty damn good with a healthy Cryer.

KU's defense could be better, but the offense is among the best and they're about to get Martin back.

Both have a higher ceiling than Texas Tech.
Tech played several games in the B12 while missing players and still managed to go 5-1 against KU, Bay, and UT. UT is the only peer to Tech defensively, and defense wins championships in most all sports.

I like Tech. They’re the most complete team offensively and defensively in the Big 12. They’re elite defensively and offensively don’t feel they have the droughts that Baylor has. If I were going to bet on any of KU, Tech, or Baylor to make the S16 for sure it is Tech. Feel they’re the least likely of the 3 to be upset in the opening weekend.

I feel Kansas has the highest ceiling of the Big 12 teams though. I can see them losing 2nd round and then just as easily see them making the NC game. I will like Kansas in the tournament if they make it past the 2nd round to make a F4 run. They get past that then I really feel the games will be a lot more up and down and open style which really feeds into this KU team’s strength. Also KU has one of the strongest starting 5s in the country and in the tournament with the long TV breaks Self will be able to keep that starting 5 on the court longer. KU is very susceptible to certain matchups though especially mobile bigs that can score and put pressure on their defense in PnR. Plus they can be turnover prone which can keep a lesser talented team in the game. I do feel though this KU team is really rounding into form.

On Baylor just not sure what to make of them. The injuries probably play a large part in that. They can have some serious Jekyll and Hyde from 1 half to the other even more than Kansas.

Personally, think KU could have the highest ceiling if Martin returns - without him, think it's TTU..

Balance wins championships.

Honestly not sure how much Remy adds offensively vs what he hurts defensively. Would love to see what he can do but KU offensively is already elite and top 3-5 in the country without him. The one thing KU misses is a guy who can create his own shot late but really he’s not gonna see the floor late in games over any one of Harris, Braun, Agbaji, or Wilson.

Was Martin really Big 12 POY preseason? Agbaji is def POY of the Big 12 imo, just don't see KU winning a natty with Wilson or Braun as a number 2 scoring option- of course been wrong before, so who knows..

Being a top 20 offensive and defensive team by Kenpom is a prerequisite for winning it all.
Wouldn’t call it a prerequisite because I think several champs in the Kenpom era only got into that range after the tourney.

He was 1st team All Pac 12 twice and was honored all four years. He’s got talent. He’s just not a perfect fit. But he still makes them better when healthy and brings certain abilities that the rest of the roster doesn’t have.
