College basketball bracket preview show

You guys lucked out getting Duke in your bracket. Means you’ll get the lowest ranked team on every seed line.
Ya, but Duke has already beat Gonzaga. And their fans are going to travel out west for K’s last shot. Shoot it was probably 55-60% Duke fans in Vegas when they played GU earlier this year.

Like I’ve said before, ball pressure/athleticism and length are what historically kills Gonzaga. Duke showed that they could do both against Gonzaga. Duke won but it was an excellent game.

WCC and MWC with 4 teams each in the tournament based off of Jerry Palm. Both more than the PAC 12.

Lists like this are so stupid.

Based on this shit the best teams in the SEC are Alabama and Tennessee. GEEZE!
How so? This shows a teams record vs an opponent ranked in the top 20. Sure, someone highly ranked may not end up there, but at the time they had earned that spot. Doesn't mean a team is the best in the country just because of this one metric. Also, Bama and Tennessee are good teams.

We don’t deserve 1 seed over Kentucky
We need to switch

You don't determine seeds by the outcome of one head to head matchup.

KU's resume is as good as any overall. And the most quad 1 wins in the nation. They may not always look like a 1 seed, but that's not how seeds are handed out.

Would not be surprised if it doesn’t matter what region it is KU and UK are the #1 and #2 seeds in that region. Unless both teams go on tears and win out and both get #1 seed.

I understand your point; however, I don't think that Kentucky will end up a 1 seed unless a bunch of the top team lose. I think UK has two more losses in the SEC in the regular season, i.e. at Arkansas and at Florida. UK still does not have its two starting guards.

No complaints with Purdue as a 2 in the Midwest.

But need someone to explain how Baylor is above both UK and Purdue.
Baylor is still a good team, but they are not what they were earlier in the year. If they can get healthy, they can live up to a 1 or 2 seed possibly. But as they are now, I'd be happy to see them in my bracket as a high seed. They can still beat anybody, but they are a borderline top 15 team right now with the personnel issues they've had.

If TyTy and Wheeler don't play tomorrow night, I wouldn't be shocked if LSU upsets UK. Great coaches like Cal can come up with a good game plan to survive without key starters for a game but the team usually gets exposed the game after because their hand has been shown and the next team can come up with adjustments to counter while the injured team still doesn't have their important guys.

I'm not sure Will Wade is the guy to make those adjustments to contain Grady but we"ll see. If both guards are held out until the SECT, then it'll be very tough to win the next 3 games and I could see UK dropping at least 1 if not 2.

I mean...KU is a low 2 or high 3 based on ability. Though I do think we've played better the last couple of weeks. But you are right, we might get a 1 seed, because other teams keep losing road games they shouldn't. KU might sneak into the 1 seed simply because we aren't really losing any games we shouldn't lose. Other than the early season loss against Dayton, we don't really have any bad losses. We probably should, but we've managed to pull out the W in our close games. Probably a little luck in that department, which could boost us artificially into a 1.

Kansas's seed probably wont matter. We can beat any team in the country, and we can get rolled by any team in the top 40 imo.
You aren't entirely wrong. We do look really bad at times, and really good at other times, and often within the same game. We're a bipolar team. But we've also managed to win most of those games when we played poorly. We've had some luck in those games, hitting big shots and benefitting from a few misses. The same went against us of course in a couple games but luckily did not cost us those games(i.e. Oklahoma at home) except for the Texas game where we gave it away. But for the most part, our poorest performances either came against teams we could overcome the performance with(on the road against ISU), or games where we likely would have lost anyway(at TT).

I think that this is the case for many teams this year.
I have noticed a lot of teams are bipolar this year. With perhaps Alabama leading the way in that category.

But KU can often be bipolar within the same game or even the same half. I believe one game we missed something like 15 out of 16 shots at one point, but then shot like 65% in the 2nd half. I can't really say that the shots were any better in the 2nd half....or that they were poor in the first half. They simply didn't go in the basket in the 1st half and did in the 2nd half. KU this year often goes through shooting slumps where we miss 10+ shots in a row, including wide open looks and layups. But we've also had so many stretches where we catch fire. This year I've seen us overcome more big deficits and blow more big leads, than I've ever seen.

I feel like we have had an unprecedented number of scoreless stretches this year. We can do it to other teams---I just dont know if we have the consistency to do it 6 games in a row. We have a knack for running into teams that are ungodly hot against us in the first couple rounds of the tourney.

Good post bignish.

I am thinking a 3 seed for UK. And in my opinion a three seed is not bad at all, especially this year when I don't think there will be that much difference between the 1 and the 4 seed.

Cal after the Alabama game said that he would not play Washington or Wheeler until they were well. Of course it will be a game to game thing, but he said that he regretted playing Washington the last game he was in. He is playing for the NCAA tourney, not the SEC tourney.

However, Grady will not hit 7 of 9 threes for the rest of the year even though I would love to see it again.

They didn't practice on Monday, so I'm not expecting them to play against LSU. However its a different storyline this time against LSU. Last time the cats were unprepared for losing both in the game. They've prepared without them. Plus we're at Rupp and its a revenge game.

I think we win at Florida, but it'll be tough at Arkansas. I expect 1 or both to be ready for those games.
