I am rather surprised that a UVA fan still comes here and defends Bennett after such an utter humiliation. If I were a UVA fan I’d want him fired immediately, but as a neutral fan it won’t hurt to watch him entertaining us for another few years of March Madness early exits. Will be interesting to see what the next excuse will be.

Actually if you read carefully, my original post was saying they Bennett fully deserved this award since it was voted before tournament began and it was meant for regular season. The post was meant to be neutral, you were just mad but it’s not my fault bro.

Bennett is a choke artist and utter joke nowadays but, this award was voted before the tournament started. With this in mind, there’s no way he wouldn’t have won it given the regular season success. Just like Dirk Nowitzki won MVP despite getting upset by 8th seeded Golden State in 2007. It’s meant for regular season.

Yeah he’s a choke artist and now an utter joke, but I did acknowledge his regular season accomplishment and I did say he deserved this award. You are mad, you only read the negative parts and failed to see the positive words, can’t blame you for this after such a humiliation from your beloved team.

Definitely not mad. Disappointed but it's not like I was on the court. I have nothing to be embarrassed about.

As an aside, not sure why there is so much Bennett / UVA bashing about the Tournament.

They sure looked tough when I saw them beat Iowa State (with Niang having a career night) in the Sweet 16 a few years ago @ Chicago. So, they have made the Elite 8 recently - which is very hard to do no matter how good your team is.

For example, Iowa State's best team EVER *2000 Big 12 Outright Regular Season + Tournament Champions with BOTH Marcus Fizer (2000 Big 12 POY) and Jamaal Tinsley (2001 Big 12 POY)* only made it to the Elite 8 (lost to eventual Tournament Champion Mich. State @ Auburn Hills).

Bennett is an excellent coach, and UVA had a GREAT year - regardless of the pile of Retriever Poo in which they stepped in the First Round of the Tournament.
