I mean, we have Wendell but it's just not the same without Zep on the court setting the tone on defense. He knows he's getting his rest in the game so he gives more energy than most.

It matters if the coaching staff is the same. What does looking at auburn pre Bruce pearl do at all to say what auburn is now? Kentucky has had multiple good coaches. Is it relevant to look at duke prior to coach K when discussing programs? No

As good as they both are it’s just as likely that both lose early to a mid major. I don’t expect that to happen but they just strike me as the type of teams that you would put to go far and then get burned by.
There are no cupcakes once you get to the 2nd Round. So yes, it wouldn't be a definite. But, if they do find themselves in the same region, I'm probably going to pick them just because I want to see the matchup.
Dating back to the 1985 NCAA Tournament where we first saw 64 teams, there have been 144 teams that were 1 seeds. 100 of them advanced to the Regional Finals. That's 69.4%. Pretty good odds. 2 Seeds are 65/144 (45.1%). So, the odds of a 1 and 2 seed meeting in the Regional Finals is 31.3%. Not great, but obviously better than any other matchup scenario.
See? This isn’t hard auburn fan. No one is going to take away the win if you admit you beat a short handed kentucky team. It’ll be okay i promise.
