Also should it be called the champions classic…

What? I have named multiple other teams
Would you guess it's the event or the fanbases that fill the arena/nelson scores? If this was any other teams, do you think it would draw the same numbers. Before you answer, there's other events that don't.

OK, let's go with it. How would they do it? UNC for Duke, IU for Michigan St. Villinova for UK, and UCLA for KU?

UNC vs. IU
Nova vs. UCLA

Does it have the same ring to it?

Nova/UCLA are playing here in about a week or two. It’s listed as one of the top 2 out of conference game of the season

And should be. Now IF they play on the night of CC.

I feel like I'm off, my bad. PPl like to see the CC as it is. A lot of ppl like to see the records of each team.

Nike uniforms are different for champions. Do you know the difference between ours and others?

It's one little thing.

UConn and Nova are both in the BE, so it would have to be UConn due to more titles.

Champions Classic 2022:

UConn vs UCLA
Hubert vs Indiana

Hot tickets!

Are people really arguing that UCONN should be in this? Yes they have multiple titles last 20 years but they are also just as likely to be a middling to average team. Even though Kansas for example only has 1 title, they still offer a consistent threat to the title every year and give you a good game (exception to 1 year).

this event usually offers very competitive games year in and year out. With exceptions of a few blow outs all the games are pretty good every year and have kicked off the season with a bang.
you put some of those UConn teams in there and I bet you see more ass whoopings. Nobody wants to watch that as an average fan.

KU, UK, Duke bring huge national fan bases. Even Nova can’t offer that.
UNC can’t be in because of Duke. UCLA has been crap up until recently, Michigan doesn’t have a title recently but I’d be ok with them taking states place. Zags have no title and limited viewership,

I mean this board says every day nothing else matters besides natty’s. So you want to include conference championships? Does anyone have more conference titles the last 20 years than Gonzaga then?
This board is stupid for that opinion. Florida is very clearly not a better all-time program than Michigan because of Joakim Noa.

Villanova has a strong argument to now be in. Gonzaga would be they probably need to win at least one title first. I just take issue with the big 10. They have won 1 natty in the last 34 seasons.
The Big Ten has been on a title slump, yes. However, their ratings/fan base size as a whole conference are excellent, and that’s why they’ll always be included in things like this. When they have a good team, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin all deliver seriously good TV ratings in very large markets.

I always thought our previous AD Mark Hollis was one of the brains behind the creation of the Champions Classic, and we were more or less grandfathered to stay in it. It began the same year as the MSU-UNC aircraft carrier game, and the proposed MSU-USC football game in Greece that didn't happen, both also Hollis ideas.

And then there's Iowa, which trumps everyone.

They pretty well have the field correct. Indiana SHOULD be the B1G representative but they've decided to take the Tennessee/Nebraska football approach.

We play UCLA and UNC in the CBS Classic. Everyone who actually matters is involved in these, save for Louisvilld who begrudgingly I admit deserves inclusion.
