Duke and UK may both end up not getting Barrett. Oregon could be a major factor.
Been hearing about Oregon as well lately. They were thought to be the school Jamal Murray was picking, he's another Canada guy. Of course he chose to come here in the end, but Oregon had all the momentum going into that commitment. Something about Oregon is appealing to the northerners I guess
If Barrett doesn't go to UK do you think Calipari will be upset that he threw the USA/Canada game for nothing?
Banner was coming down anyway, so no.
Nike connections. Which are very deep up there with Phil Knight. I am guessing that is the big draw. Altman is a heck of a coach as well.
I would wager that the other 2 Nike schools involved have a good shot though when it is all said and done. Duke and UK have done it all to accommodate OAD guys and their plans for them are very well mapped out. Duke does a very good job with this.
False. I knew he was talking about South Carolina. Heck everyone around here in the midwest refers to South Carolina as Carolina and North Carolina as NC
I've never heard anyone refer to SC as their primary use of Carolina. Ever.
I've never heard anyone refer to N. Carolina as only Carolina.
Does the Dakotas have this debate?
Edit: Carolina Panthers. That's it. I can't remember Carolina Tarheels. What about that song?...nevermind it is Caroline.
Did you mean this song?
And FYI, he isn't from SOUTH Carolina
Carolina to me has always been North Carolina.
Carolina Panthers are in Charlotte, and I've always been a die hard fan.
Carolina = North Carolina
Yeah that was probably it. I knew there was a song, and googled "Carolina song".
So he's the second time I heard "Carolina" as North. Until this board, l didn't know it was a debate, but I guess the score is N -2, S-0
If the South really wanted to win (this time), become better (at sports), and more recognizable in other ways.
Still curious about the Dakotas.
So do the Duke guys, and the media labels every recruit as a Duke lean even when they're not. Cal and K have each stolen recruits from the other. It's fun to watch and good for the sport.
anti-monopoly laws? That's how Duke got into OAD after despising them.
Also, when you google "Carolina" the state of North Carolina, the Panthers, and the heels all come up before anything South Carolina... as does Carolina Supply (NC) Carolina business furniture (NC) the Hurricanes... hell, Carolina FC, a soccer team in Raleigh, comes up before anything South Carolina.
I really think that Carolina = North Carolina for most people...
Hey Clive, I really mistyped when I said that originally... I've heard lots of people call SC "Carolina." Sorry, what I meant to say is that when most people hear Carolina I think their FIRST thought is NC. My bad, wasn't clear at all.
Big fan of James Taylor. I have a two albums.
Only saying Carolina is like referring to all soft drinks as Coke. ******ed people use the ambiguous name Carolina and just assume everyone can read their sub 100 IQ about which state they are talking about.
Must be some killer weed in the Carolina's.... I'm 41 years old, and I've never, EVER heard someone say "Carolina," while referring to SC. Ever. It would be the equivalent to Fizzou winning a National Championship. It just doesn't happen.
No reason to quote anyone, but I will say it again: I've never heard anyone say "Carolina", in reference to South Carolina; EVER. Hell I was stationed in Columbia, and I never heard the locals say this.
But, what about this cut? He's from Georgia.
And, he frequently covers a verse of Taylor's Carolina in my Mind when he plays it live.
There was another interview with his AAU coach where he said the UK Visit couldnt have went better. You have to take everything you hear after these visits with a grain of salt.
Thank you for your service.
Kentucky now considered front runners for Zion.
Five-star sensation Zion Williamson will be on Kentucky’s campus this weekend for an official visit, and judging by some recent buzz, the Cats are in a much better position than previously thought.
Ben Roberts of the Herald-Leader spoke to five top recruiting analysts — Jeff Borzello, Evan Daniels, Corey Evans, Jerry Meyer, and Andrew Slater — and the majority said Kentucky is the clear favorite to land the explosive forward from South Carolina. Kansas, which has picked up a lot of buzz in recent months due to their partnership with adidas, didn’t even register on three of the analysts’ top three.
The "Duke guys" I know are very honest about Duke's chances. I am sure a few of them are over-zealous in their assessment of Duke's chances. Most likely just like UK guys.
Who you choose to listen to makes all the difference in the world.
You must not live in the USA then.
he doesn't lol
Well if Kentucky.com is reporting this, everyone else should just throw in the towel.
..."according to national recruiting experts".
I've kind of always assumed that if Zion leaves the state of South Carolina he'd go to UK. Drake has been wearing his high school jersey for what seems like 2 years now.
If Zion or Quickley doesn't goto UK then I'll visit RR for thefirst time in months. Just to read the meltdown.
Thought I read somewhere about how his mentor is John Wall, and sure enough he'll be at UK this weekend for Wall's HoF induction.
From what I read, Don't be surprised to see SLAM break thecommitment news.
UK fans remember SLAM broke the Wall commitment in the early hours EST.
Believe....it when I see it.
He has commented on Zion's game before (probably because he was asked to) but I have never heard anything like that.
(Well if Kentucky.com is reporting this, everyone else should just throw in the towel.)
you do not know how right you are tw. If you dislike uk keep giving them clicks. Their run by north carolina folks.
I am starting to upset a few people in my office because I have been singing Slam by Onyx since it was posted in this thread. Right on Clive! Great tune.
