Not really sure which “real world” you live in that don’t. I will wait for your explanation.

Generally speaking, I listen to subject matter experts on their areas of expertise. I listen to anyone offering coherent discourse. If said person happens to be a celebrity, so be it.

I personally vote which ever way celebrities tell us too. They have all that money so they must be smart.

Dude, we spend a lot of our time on here critiquing the choices and ideas of 18 and 19 year olds.

How about we get the media to stop reporting what they say as news and start from there.

Yeah, we should be more like North Korea in that regard. There's really no need for any of us to know what's going on.

I hate to be this way bit I think it's because people are stupid. We complain about the role government plays in our lives but the reality is nobody really can separate themselves from their decisions. It's easy to blame another person. Maybe it makes sense in some level but we are ultimately accountable to God for every decision we make. I think it's easy to blame another person. Maybe on some level it's justified. But a man takes personal responsibility for his decisions and doesn't blame another.

OK well let me give this a more serious answer. Most do not care anymore what a celeb thinks about issues the than they do their next door neighbor or their crazy aunt. The celeb just has a larger audience.

I don’t get it either. Somebody plays ball or plays make-believe in front of a camera or sings.....and for that the rest of us are supposed to treat them as though they’re friggin’ geniuses or as though their opinions matter? Ummmm, why?

Oh by the way.....most of them (especially actors) barely have a high school diploma (or don’t like DiNiro) or at best typically have something like an undergrad degree in drama. OOOOH! I can see how you’re an expert on economics and international relations what with that drama degree from some small liberal arts school nobody’s ever heard of! Do tell us more...Eyeroll

P.S. before some idiot says it, yes of course they’re entitled to express their stupid/ignorant opinions. That doesn’t mean I have to respect them.

This times a million. But be careful! Some here may criticize you for being elitist. Your law degree simply doesn't match up to Lebron James' ability to dribble a basketball when it comes to analyzing national and world events...

You failed to finish high school and have never worked in business? Those are DeNiro’s “qualifications” for example. Just guessing but I bet your education and experience blows his away.

Because they are not the brightest in the world. Many years ago Toastmasters taught to dumb down any speech you were to give unless you knew the group was a professional or higher academic one. They stated the average person out there in the public back then had an understanding level of about an 8th grade education. They tend to think visible people are better informed, more intelligent than they are. They typically are not. I am not Right or Left, pro or anti Trump, but watching DeNiro the other day with his very visible "**** Trump" rant on stage, on television, just makes me shake my head. Yes, I am old, but I remember people not liking Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ & Nixon but could never imagine something like this happening so visibly back in those days. Sad commentary on our society.

How many urge real sacrifices be made by you little people to save da erf.....but who personally have huge mansions and ride around in limos and private jets?

Oh but it’s not blatant hypocrisy you see. Why no! Nothing of the sort! They bought green indulgences (carbon credits) from the Church of Gaia to expiate their sins.....

Wharton MBA and has run multi billion dollar businesses. That’s not exactly the same as drama degree from east podunk U and only acted for a living.

If you don’t have a degree in theater I’m not sure we can trust your opinion on actors. Sorry.

I am sure bankruptcy forcing a man into reality tv wasn’t what wharton had in mind though.

Trump was FORCED into reality TV? With over 3,000,000,000 in assets? News to me...

As for actors doing their jobs, I can either like them in a role or not. I am not qualified to dissect the mechanics of acting to determine if pace, pitch, dramatic tension and delivery is good or bad...

Counts toward what? Him not being a celebrity? He was still a celebrity. He had more experience than the current iteration but a celebrity none the less.

A celebrity became president of the US 3 times in the past 10 elections. Hell, Tom Hanks or Lebron James could be our next president for all I know.

Why do the pit regulars on here think that their opinions have meaning? You all spend more time giving your opinion than any celebrity that I know of. I think that their opinions matter exactly as much as a bunch of people hurling insults in a political thread on a football message board. They just have a bigger audience.
