    We have four choices.

In the college football "playoff" era, we have NEVER seen an undefeated school win it all, nor have we seen the #1 seed winning.

In 2014 and 2017, the 4th seed won. In 2015 and 2016, the 2nd seed won.

This century, only 2013 Florida State, 2010 Auburn, 2009 Alabama, 2005 USC, 2002 Miami, 2001 Oklahoma, and 2000 Florida State won the national title game as the #1 seed. That's a 7/18 or 39% success rate.

Does that point to Oklahoma being our "surprise" winner? Maybe.

I will argue Clemson here. I think Alabama will beat Oklahoma, and then we will have yet another Clemson vs. Alabama match-up and this time around, the Tigers will enact their revenge making it even.

Oklahoma is going to flip the script and be just the 2nd team without a top 25 defense to win it all. Or at least I’m hoping so, because I hate the other 3 teams.

Obvs, I believe in my Tigers to win it all. But gotta respect those frisky Sooners. I think they'll give Bama everything they can handle, and maybe even the upset.

Bama vs OK - whoever has the ball in the last 1 minute wins, because both of these teams can easily score in under a minute. Hell, OK scored 21 in just around 4 minutes vs Texas the first time.

I guarantee Alabama wins the playoff! Unless of course Oklahoma beats them.

In which case I guarantee Clemson wins the playoff! Unless Notre Dame beats them.

In which case I guarantee Oklahoma wins the playoff. Unless Notre Dame beats them. Then I guarantee it’s Notre Dame.

Is it weird to anyone else that three games are played to determine a winner rather than one vote? Deciding it on the field is what the NFL does and we don't want college football to do anything the NFL does.:D

The playoff committee always seem to "get off the hook" for their picks when there is even a slight hint of controversy.

Would not shock me to see OU beat Bama, thus justifying their OU pick over Ohio State.

The difference is Golden State doesn’t get sent home in the first round like OU does.

Again, and again, the NFL can do it because it has 32 teams while college football has 130. Not even in the realm of similarity!

If Bama Notre Dame or Clemson win it all and UCF wins can UCF claim another title or will that not work this year? I honestly don’t know who’s a champion anymore.

Alabama but I guess I want OU or ND if I HAVE to root for anyone. I’m mostly just rooting for 3 great games but we typically don’t see that, at least not in the semi final games. I think only 2 semi final games have been decided by a TD or less?

Hoping for an OU win but I'm realistic. Conventual wisdom says it can't happen.
The last time these two met, the board was just like it is now. Alabama by a LOT.
Alabama said their best Christmas present ever is getting OU in the bowl game.
Then they said they didn't even want to be there.

Double digits is not necessarily a lot. Ten points would beat the spread if betting on OU. I guarantee there will be no question about whether or not Bama wants to be there this time. If OU wins, you tip your hat to them.

Win or loose, I'll tip the hat to all 4teams. The Sooners have given me unmeasurable entertainment through out the years. About the same teams seem to get there every year so I'm looking forward to a lot of good times.
Thankful the Sooners are in the playoffs most years, not many teams as lucky as you and me.

Again, it is a lie that college football cannot use rules and must vote teams into the playoffs.

You would have to reorganize all the conferences and reduce the regular season to have anything close to what the nfl has. Four little words, not going to happen.

No you don't. I'm not suggesting college football be identical to the NFL. My original post was just poking fun at Cfb doing anything like the NFL since some fans are opposed to cfb turning into the NFL.

It is one thing to not have a top 25 defense...but they don’t even have a top 50, top 75, or even a top 100 defense and they are playing the number 2 scoring offense.

Once again the IS no playoff. That's a .isinterpretaion. There IS a CFP championship. Similar in many respects to the predecessor the BCS. Selection appears to follow the same logistic. Http://www.colleymatrix.com. BCS Proxy. 5 for 5. That can't be a coincidence. That's a pattern. Four teams qualify, obviously top-four. Single elimination. Exclusive to four teams, but also including 4 pairings (additional) in title games. Each equally relevant. A team like UCF by simply winning. Can secure a full (25%) measure of the CFP.
The NC Belt in essence. I outlined it. Simple.

Alabama. I don't think they'll have a game as close as the UGA game even if Hurts plays the entire playoff.

There is no playoff. If there were all twelve teans would be admitted. There IS a four team championship, apparently utilizing BCS rules for selection and representation.
