Indiana? Thought y’all blue bloods didn’t like giving out blue blood status.

Or just a backhanded shot at Louisville?

And to answer, UK, for obvious reasons. But I really like to see duke lose as well. I don’t mind UNC, was always a big Vince carter fan. Kansas is just kinda mehhh don’t like em don’t hate em.

Are you saying UL is better than IU overall, and KU is irrelevant?

I mean we are universally viewed as 6 and 7. They have the titles, we have everything else, well before the vacations I suppose.

Giess depends on how much u are weighing the vacations.

As for Kansas we just rarely play them and I don’t feel one way or another towards them except I root for the underdog and they are rarely one. def a blue blood though.

I feel like UK and Duke have been the biggest threat recently. I pick both.

I mean, as an Illini fan, out of these suggestions ... obviously IU, haha. With that said, I find UCLA’s futility the funniest.

They definitely fell the furthest. From 10-12 NC’s, 88 in a row...to what they are and have been recently. Won’t see that kind of domination in my lifetime.

Considering Kentucky and Carolina are only blue bloods because of Kansas coaches, I kinda feel a kinship with them.

I'd be lying if I said the results didn't bother me a bit. I had a whole post idea lined out on us being #1 in another category.
On that note, did you vote for UCLA just because they had the fewest votes? Or what's the story there?

I've never admitted this, but before I knew anything about anything, Duke was my first favorite team due to their mascot. I like the "Blue Devils". then I learned you were actually devils and the enemy, and homestate pride took over.

I stil root for UNC on occasion due to my best friend and BIL grew up a tarheel fan, and well...I like to see him happy. Just not at UK's expense.

It goes against everything holy to admit that.

Also keep in mind when I was starting to like college ball, you guys played UL and I was not a UL fan. So that played a part.

If UNC, Duke, UL plays say Boston College, I root for UNC, Duke, UL.

If those said teams play UK, then they can go **** themselves.

Last flooding post. Out of all the blue bloods. IU is for sure my favorite. I've been surrounded by IU fans since the first grade due to mom's best friend is from Inidana and lived there a bit.

I like you friend, but tell me again how you became a Duke fan. I'm a sucker for origin stories.

I don't know if I've ever shared it on this board. It's actually very fitting that it'd come up in this thread.

So I grew up playing basketball and was on a travel team each Summer. The coach of our travel team was from Kentucky and was a huge Wildcat fan. Fast forward to 1999, we're at our coach's house watching the championship. I hadn't watched much college basketball up to that point, but he is obviously rooting against Duke (as well as most of my team members). It's hard to know if I rooted more for Duke or against my coach and team members in that game, but I've been a huge fan ever since that day (I was 12 at the time).

Only team I get a laugh at for losing is UL and since they ain’t a blue blood I’ll have to go with IU even if I am use to them losing these days. Don’t really care what the others do🤷🏼

Wow that’s pretty weird imo.

I usually root for the underdogs regardless if I don’t have any real rooting interest. Which means I rarely if ever root for bluebloods against random opponents.

Just a difference in opinions I suppose.

Actually upon pondering this, it does make sense.

Hate for a program lots of times stems from jealousy and as a UK fan there’s not a whole lot about any other program to be jealous about.

Even this year when UK is hot trash and one might get jealous of others success, the other bluebloods aint exactly tearing it up either.
