Baylor, due to injury issues - think Bacot will cause some problems today.

That's my thought. Especially with the way Carolina is playing. Arizona could have problems without Kerr too. TCU is playing good ball.

Zags could have some issues with Memphis' size and athleticism but Mark Few is a much better coach than Penny.

Kansas seems like the lock. I don't think Creighton is good at all. I'd expect Kansas to win fairly easily unless they lay an egg

Agreed - BIG shock if KU does not win today , especially now with Creighton’s starting Center out rest of the tourney .

I think they’re all vulnerable except for Kansas. Though Creighton is the type of team that gives Kansas fits in the tourney where some normally bad three point shooter suddenly becomes Steph Curry.

As mentioned, Memphis’ size and athleticism could bother Gonzaga. Though they should still win comfortably. But you always worry about teams like that in the tourney. They may have underperformed during the regular season, but those types of teams tend to figure it out and live up to their potential in the tourney.

Baylor is in obvious trouble because UNC is NOT an 8 seed. They are more like a 3 or 4 seed. The light turned on for them late in the season, but they’re being punished for underachieving the first half of the season.

Arizona is in trouble because TCU is another team that turned it around late. They’re tough and scrappy and have good size/strength inside. They could give Zona a scare if they take care of the ball.

True. But it isn’t “starting centers” that have given KU problems the last several years. It’s been teams deciding to have their best three point shooting game of the season. I expect KU to coast, but if they get hot from 3…… ya never know.

Is Baylor questionable due to health?

They’ve been unhealthy all year long. But they’re still a good team even when unhealthy.

No, I predicted this upset when I saw the matchups. UNC has been playing like a 2 or 3 seed the last month or so. They are not an 8 seed. I’d have been rather upset if I were a Baylor fan and saw that draw. Carolina is very good right now. Even worse….they’re playing like a top seed, but with zero pressure. Being an 8 seed, they have zero pressure hanging on them. They’re playing very loose and seeming very motivated.

Creighton ranks 322nd in the NCAA in 3 point shooting. Anyone could have a good night and shoot the ball well but this seems like a weird concern.

Have you watched our tourney exits lately? Bad three point shooters having the game of their lives against us seems to be the norm. I’ve seen more banked in threes and buzzer beating guarded jumpers against us in the tourney the last 5 years than all of our regular season games combined.

Woe is Kansas I guess. I’m sure they’re the only team that’s run into good shooting in March

I thought Baylor before they even started to play. That said it's going to be interesting what TCU can do vs Arizona.

Pace of that game will be interesting. Arizona wants to play fast and TCU will try to grind it out. If Arizona can get their possessions, I think they win. But if TCU can slow it down, I think they can win that one. Arizona can sometimes get careless when trying to push the pace.

Not the only of course. UK ran into that train Thursday. But yeah we have experienced more than our fair share of it lately.

It will be truly shocking if Creighton wins. Their backup pg is out for the year. Their starting pg and Big East freshman of the year is done for the season, and now the C and defensive player of the year is done. They might not have enough bodies to finish the game.

I'm a little surprised they won their first game but the MWC has been less than stellar this tournament.

I believe they were 0-20 from three until the last five mins, plus about a million turnovers, and two key players with four fouls with ten minutes to go. Somehow they pulled it off.

You aren’t wrong. But it is hard to not be nervous in the tourney. You just never know. I expect KU to win comfortably, but ya just never know. We need to play the 3 pt line close and let them have the occasional free shot down low. We can outscore them if they’re hitting twos. Them getting hot from 3 is really the only way this game is in question. That or KU goes historically cold.

Yeah there’s even more pressure on Kansas now because everyone is picking them to win big. Creighton is playing with house money for sure.

Looky there. Creighton is 3-4 from 3. From guys who shoot 35% and 25% from 3 respectively.
